Prize Distribution Ceremony organized at Korea Cultural Center

?All India 4th Korea - India Friendship Essay Competition 2016? Certificate Prize Distribution was organized by Korean Cultural Centre, India Lajpat Nagar, at its Centre. The competition was a huge success as 11,446 students from 434 schools for PAN India including 29 States, 7 Union Territories including Andaman Nicobar and Lakshadweep took part. The Winners were awarded Trophies, Prizes, and certificates by the Chief Guest His Excellencey Hyun Cho, Ambassador, Republic of Korea to India. On the occasion many school teachers and parents were present. First and Second Rank winners of Senior Group got a free trip to Korea for 6 Days and 5 Nights. Rest of the 40 winners got cash prizes and certificates. Kim Kum Pyoung ? Director, Korean Cultural Centre welcomed the participants, teachers and parents present at the event.

His Excellencey Hyun Cho congratulated the winners and said ?Writing is a different pleasure, you can refer to the expressions and the artistry?. He added thousands of students were exposed towards the historic relation between India and Korea, their traditions, cuisine and to much more through this essay competition. India and Korea both the countries have many similarities, both are passionate about growth and success.

Kim Kum Pyoung ? Director, Korean Cultural Centre India gave his warm wishes to all the winning students and said that, this kind of competition increases the morale of students. Talking on the historical relationship he added that Buddhism in Korea came from the India. Korea?s Culture, Sports even writing skills is also influenced by the India. Korean metal printing is also inspired from Buddhism.

Narayan Dutt Bahuguna from Doon International School, Dehradun grabbed the 1st place, second was won by two students Anoushka Gogoi of Army Public School, Assam and Kaushambi Vats from Mata Jai Kaur Public School, Delhi in the Senior Group. Competition was categorized for Junior (Class 7 -9) and senior (class 10-12). The theme for junior was 'Historical Connections between India and Korea? and for the senior ?My favorite places in Korea?.

This huge participation from PAN India was thrilling. It landed the judges in trouble as going through so many essays and selecting the best out of it was not an easy task for them too. Major participation was from Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Maharashtra and Delhi with other participation from other States and Union Territory too.

4543 students participated from Uttar Pradesh, 1827 from Gujarat, 1343 from Maharashtra, 1026 from Delhi, 498 from Haryana and rest from other parts of India. 7497 students wrote on ?Historical Connection between India and Korea? and 3498 wrote on ?My Favorite places in Korea?.
