Documentary Film Festival in India Participate in iLEAD-O-Scope

Explore your dream as a film maker; take part in iLEAD-O-Scope 2016 and traverse your creativity through documentary film making. iLEAD, the eminent media institute of Kolkata is going to tabulate a short film making competition for the age group of 15 to 25. The mass communication college at Kolkata has come up with this unique idea where they are going to accept short films and documentaries from the participants on the theme ?Little India-tale of India?s worldwide?.
The Contention
The event will take place in the month of October, 2016 and will last till 16th of January, 2017. This international youth film festival, supported by ?Incredible India? gave the competition a bona fide feature. All the aspiring participants need to send a seven minute film on any of the following categories to take part in this competition.
? A well researched documentary
? A music video
? A spoof, satire or comedy bringing out the irony of being an Indian in a foreign land
? A fictionalized rendering of life of the Indian Diaspora
? A biopic of an Indian who has made it big in the foreign land.
?The films may explore a place that an Indian like to frequent, a festival that the Indian diaspora celebrates or may be the contribution of an Indian in the development of the country, we are emphasizing on the values or ethos that Indians carry with them and how these values evolve, even you can make a different film capturing the needful activities of a particular Indian that can be spotted in a crowd from miles away? stated the chief contact person of this cultural extravaganza on behalf of the institute. The participants are expected to send stories that bear the flavor of India.
The Verdict
Noteworthy filmmakers, cultural enthusiasts and eminent historians will judge the films sent by the contenders and most creative documentary or story will receive lucrative prizes.
? The first prize for the best film- A luxury cruise for thirteen days on river Ganges from Kolkata to Varanasi for two.
? The second prize for the best film- A sojourn at the exotic ?welcome heritage? resort for two.
Apart from the best film category the best concept will get a chance to see the famous Kite Festival at Ahmedabad for two, best treatment will experience the legacy of Murshidabad Heritage Festival for two, best camera/ sound/ editing will witness the extravaganza of Kolkata Durga Puja while jury awards will allow the winners to receive gift vouchers from iLEAD bookshop, Sasha, Kadam Haat and many more.
It is indeed a commendable initiative by iLEAD, one of the best mass media colleges in Kolkata to come up with such a beautiful event where the upcoming talents get ample opportunity to sport their talents.
