Mumbai, August 19, 2026: Freyr Energy - India’s 2nd largest residential rooftop solar company has launched a new range of high-performance solar inverters further strengthening its integrated rooftop solar ecosystem. An estimated 80 million to 100 million households in India need battery backup power systems to manage daily grid gaps, voltage drops, and heatwave blackouts. Researched and developed by Freyr Energy and manufactured by Zenergize – an EV charging and renewable energy solutions manufacturing company, the new inverters lineup uses next generation Silicon Carbide (SiC) technology along with seamless digital monitoring, and comprehensive after-sales support.

The single-phase variants in 3 kW and 5 kW which use eco-friendly and economical SiC technology have been specifically designed for Indian homes and operating conditions. The Freyr Energy inverters deliver an industry leading 97.8% conversion efficiency enabling homeowners to maximize solar energy generation, improve overall system performance and reduce operational losses. The on-grid solar PV inverter efficiently converts the DC electricity generated by solar panels into a stable 230V single-phase AC output. With inbuilt smart features like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, consumers can monitor system performance in real time through the Freyr Energy Solar App.

Additional features include IP65 protection, integrated safety mechanisms which protect the inverter against short-circuit, overload, overheating, and surge conditions from lightning or voltage spikes, as well as MNRE approval, BIS certification, and a 10-year warranty and dependable long-term performance. Further, the self-cleaning technology, supported by dust-resistant design, helps reduce dust accumulation and supports consistent performance with minimal maintenance requirements.

Radhika Choudary, Co-Founder and Director, Freyr Energy, said, “India's rooftop solar sector is undergoing a significant transformation, as the industry matures, we are seeing a clear shift in customer demand towards higher backup capacity. Therefore, with the aim to addresses persistent customer challenges such as energy losses, fragmented monitoring, and weather-related performance concerns, Freyr Energy has launched high-performance solar inverters. During periods of low solar generation, such as cloudy conditions or reduced sunlight availability, the inverter continuously tracks the optimum voltage and current from the solar panels using Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology to maximise energy generation under changing weather conditions. The inverter seamlessly synchronises with the utility grid by matching its voltage, frequency, and phase, enabling surplus solar power to be exported whenever available. During periods of low solar generation, it automatically switches to grid power, ensuring uninterrupted and reliable energy supply in urban as well as rural regions.”

Looking ahead, the trajectory of rooftop solar in India appears closely tied to how quickly costs can be rationalised and ecosystem gaps addressed. With an increasing number of residential installations across the country, India's rooftop solar market is witnessing a significant momentum, driven by rising electricity demand, growing consumer awareness, and government initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. As India progresses towards its target to achieve a total solar capacity of 280 GW by 2030, Freyr Energy remains committed to delivering high-quality, technology-driven solar solutions to enable Indian consumers transition to solar energy efficiently.
