Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026 Marks a Milestone in the State's Digital Future, Historic MoUs with Google & Salesforce signed by DIT

The Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026 concluded today with the State signing 43 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and 11 Expressions of Interest across Information Technology and allied sectors. The two-day conclave drew an overwhelming response from investors, industry leaders, technology companies, entrepreneurs and policymakers from across the country, positioning Tripura as one of India's most exciting emerging destinations for technology-led and sustainable investment.

Held on 9 and 10 July 2026 at the International Fair Ground, Hapania, Agartala, the conclave brought together the best of Tripura's digital infrastructure, forward-looking policy framework and fast-growing innovation ecosystem, catalysing new partnerships across Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Healthcare, Hospitality, Tourism, Power, Manufacturing, Green Energy and allied sectors.

The conclave was inaugurated by Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tripura Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha in the presence of Hon'ble Minister for Information and Technology, Finance and Planning & Coordination, Government of Tripura, Shri Pranajit Singha Roy, along with other cabinet ministers and senior officials from the Government of Tripura. The Hon'ble Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region and Communications Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and Hon'ble Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal addressed the conclave virtually. The conclave also featured industry leaders and investors from across the country.

Addressing the inaugural session, Hon'ble Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said, "Tripura is one of the fastest growing states in the country. We have doubled the GSDP in just six years. We have strengthened national highways, network connectivity, waterways and banking infrastructure. We had initially expected around 500 participants for the Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026, but more than 1,000 people have attended. This reflects the growing confidence of investors in Tripura and is very encouraging for the State."

Addressing the conclave virtually, Hon'ble Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region and Communications Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia said, "Tripura has a remarkable growth story and has emerged as one of Northeast India's most promising investment destinations. Agartala is emerging as a strategic gateway to Southeast Asia, connecting businesses to the ASEAN region. With abundant natural resources, a highly educated workforce, investor-friendly policies and modern infrastructure, Tripura offers immense opportunities across manufacturing, food processing, logistics, exports and technology-led industries."

Also addressing the conclave virtually, Hon'ble Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri Piyush Goyal said, "Today, under India's Act East Policy, Tripura is becoming a gateway to Southeast Asian countries, playing an important role in trade and exports with Bangladesh. Industries that come to Tripura enjoy a highly strategic location, excellent connectivity and strong digital infrastructure, Tripura truly has an edge over other states."

Hon'ble Minister for Information Technology and Finance, Planning & Coordination department, Government of Tripura, Shri Pranajit Singha Roy while interacting with investors highlighted the State Government’s investor-friendly policies and encouraged them to explore Tripura as a preferred destination for IT investments. He assured them of the Government of Tripura’s full support and all necessary assistance in establishing and expanding their ventures in the state.

On the first day Shri Jeya Ragul Geshan B, Director, Department of Information Technology presented the various policies introduced over the last few years in the IT sector and highlighted how Tripura’s growing IT infrastructure and human capital offer huge advantages to the sector in the region. He said ‘Our policies are already delivering results. We have successfully attracted a Rs 200 Crore investment from Airtel for a data centre in Agartala. Furthermore, our startup ecosystem is thriving with 134 registered startups, 59 recognised companies and over 2.7 crore disbursed in fiscal assistance”

Shri Kiran Gitte, Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Government of Tripura, in his address emphasized how the government has consistently focused on business reforms and have been provided single window and single agencies for all approvals. “With huge investments in national highways, railways, banking, internet connectivity and highways and highly educated and skilled manpower I invite all investors to join the journey towards Viksit Tripura”

On the second day Chief Secretary, Government of Tripura Shri J.K Sinha said- “Organizing the Destination Tripura Business Conclave-2026 is a matter of immense pride for the state. This event reflects Tripura’s positive economic policies, development-oriented outlook, and investor friendly environment. In particular, Tripura’s initiatives in deregulation of compliance and implementation of business reforms have been widely appreciated across the country.” One of the most significant outcomes of the conclave for the Directorate of Information Technology was the exchange of 43 MoUs worth over ₹10,000 crore, spanning digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data management, robotics, cloud infrastructure etc.

Among the key collaborations announced were partnerships with Google India for digital transformation, Artificial Intelligence, cloud infrastructure and technology ecosystem development; Salesforce for AI-enabled citizen services, CRM solutions and digital governance platforms and preliminary discussions were also held with the Tata Consultancy Services. Additionally, MoUs were also signed with other prestigious companies such as Da’Spatio Rhobotiue Laboratory Pvt Ltd (DSRL), Bodhi Tree Multimedia Limited, Elvania Energies 369 Pvt Ltd, Indigi Consulting and Solutions Pvt Ltd.

The Directorate of Information Technology's dedicated IT Pavilion was among the standout attractions of the conclave, drawing massive footfall from investors, startup founders, industry representatives, students, bureaucrats and technology enthusiasts across both days.

The pavilion put Tripura's progressive policy ecosystem on full display, including the Tripura IT/ITeS Policy, Tripura Startup Policy and Tripura Data Centre Policy, which together offer fiscal incentives, infrastructure support and capacity-building opportunities for investors and entrepreneurs. Visitors also got an early preview of policy initiatives currently under development, including the Artificial Intelligence Policy, AVGC-XR Policy and the Global Capability Centre (GCC) Policy.

The pavilion also spotlighted Tripura's expanding digital backbone through presentations on the proposed IT Park, the Tripura IT & Data Ecosystem Zone (TIDEZ) and Airtel's Nxtra Data Centre, alongside investment opportunities across Artificial Intelligence, Data Centres, Cybersecurity, IT/ITeS, AVGC-XR, Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Global Capability Centres and other emerging technology sectors.

Innovation and entrepreneurship formed another major highlight of the pavilion. Robotics developed by startups incubated at NIT Agartala, including Cubo-Bots, drew considerable attention from visitors, while startups working in health-tech and computational design showcased homegrown innovations.

The Directorate also highlighted the State's expanding digital infrastructure and innovation ecosystem. T-NEST (Tripura: Nurturing Entrepreneurship & Startups), the State's flagship incubation centre located at IBC, Hapania, offers a modern 36,162 sq. ft. plug-andplay incubation facility equipped with co-working spaces, incubation cabins, meeting rooms, high-speed internet and shared business infrastructure. The proposed IT Park at Agartala will provide plug-and-play office spaces, incubation facilities and a Tier-IV Data Centre to support IT and ITeS investments. The Tripura IT & Data Ecosystem Zone (TIDEZ) is envisioned as a dedicated hub for Data Centres and IT/ITES establishments. The strategic location will be backed by reliable power infrastructure and high-speed fibre connectivity.

The conclave witnessed the participation of several senior Government officials, policymakers and industry leaders including Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran, Chief Economic Advisor, Government of India; Shri Keshav Kumar Pathak, Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India; Shri Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Chief Secretary, Government of Tripura; Shri Kiran Gitte, Secretary, Industries & Commerce, and other senior secretaries and other distinguished dignitaries.

The Destination Tripura Business Conclave 2026 will be remembered as a defining chapter in the State's journey towards becoming a technology-led economy. What began a few years ago as a policy vision, anchored in the Tripura IT/ITeS Policy, the Tripura Startup Policy and steady investment in digital infrastructure, has today translated into concrete commitments from some of the world's leading technology companies. With that vision now bearing results, the Directorate of Information Technology remains committed to working closely with industry leaders, startups and investors to carry this momentum forward and build a resilient, future ready digital economy for Tripura in the years ahead.
