Mumbai, March 06, 2026: Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital has launched ‘Gift Clear Vision to Her’, a nationwide initiative aimed at providing free eye check-ups and consultations to one million women through its 280+ eye hospitals and vision care centres across the country. The campaign addresses a critical concern, as women in India often prioritise caregiving and family responsibilities over their own health, placing themselves at increased risk especially of preventable vision loss.

The initiative, launched to celebrate the International Women’s Day 2026, encourages individuals to pledge a free eye check-up for every important woman in their lives. Participants can take part digitally by scanning a QR code and completing a simple 30-second pledge form available at https://www.dragarwal.com/womens-day-2026/, or by calling 9003888444 to nominate a woman for a free eye check-up. Once a nomination is submitted, the hospital team will contact the nominated woman directly and book a priority appointment for the free checkup at the nearest Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital centre between March 8 and 31, 2026.

In his comments, Dr Ashvin Agarwal, Chief Clinical Officer & Senior Ophthalmologist, noted that, “Studies indicate that nearly 65% of Indian women delay seeking eye care despite experiencing vision problems, while an estimated 2.5 million women remain at risk of preventable vision loss each year due to caregiving responsibilities, cultural influences, and economic barriers often prevent them from seeking timely vision care.”

Dr. Vandana Jain, Head – Clinical Services, Dr Agarwals Eye Hospital, Vashi, Mumbai, further added that, “Through this campaign, we are offering free comprehensive eye examinations and clinical consultations for women nationwide. Early and regular eye check-ups play a crucial role in preventing avoidable vision impairment, enabling timely diagnosis and ensuring the right treatment at the right time.”

The hospital has designated priority consultation hours for women on both weekdays and weekends across its centres. During these dedicated hours, ophthalmologists will be available to ensure comfortable and focused consultations. The nominated women will also benefit from expedited check-ins and access to private consultation spaces on Sundays. With coordinated implementation across its network, the initiative aims to foster sustained awareness around preventive eye care for women.
