The recent deaths of Oscar-nominated director John Singleton and actor Luke Perry have turned the spotlight on strokes, the fifth leading cause of death in the U.S. Board-certified internist Michael Tehrani, who serves on the medical team at Brand New Day, a Medicare Advantage prescription plan available in 12 California counties, says that the better we understand strokes, the less chance we will fall victim to them.
