Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Berlin has become the starting point of the campaign of the Russian Federation tourist potential presentations named “Russian Tourism Roadshow-2012”, organized by the Federal Agency for Tourism in order to enhance cooperation between Russia and its European partners.
Head of Rostourism, Alexander Radkov, and Minister-Counsellor of the Russian Federation in Germany, Oleg Krasnitsky, opened the Roadshow. "We wage such large-scale presentation of the Russian regions in Europe - Berlin, Paris and London for the first time. We hope that similar projects that attract the Europeans' attention to Russia as a tourist destination will be held every year," - said Alexander Radkov at the opening of the presentation.
The meaning and goal of the event, according to the head of the Federal Tourism Agency Alexander Radkov, are "not only to show what Russia is, but also to dispel some myths and prejudices associated with the image of our country abroad." "Russia is often conceived not adequately as a cold country with unfriendly population, poor infrastructure," - he said, "after all almost every Russian region can now offer a good service of high standards." Head of Rostourism drew attention of the meeting participants to the variety of types of tourism available in the Russian Federation. "The unique cultural and spiritual heritage is concentrated not only in Moscow and St. Petersburg, traditionally frequented by tourists, but also in a special degree - in the province - the soul of Russia", - he said. At the same time, in terms of business tourism, major cities have modern Expo centers, ready to accept international forums and conferences, Radkov said.
Head of Rostourism stressed that Germany is a Russia's key partner in the development of the industry. "According to Rosstat, the citizens of Germany carried out about 629 thousand trips to Russia, the Russians to Germany - more than a million in 2011" - reminded Radkov. He expressed his conviction that the “Russian Tourism Roadshow-2012” will be a landmark in a series of events to be carried out within the "cross-year" of Russia and Germany, which starts this June.
13 regions of Russia: Moscow-city, Kostroma, Smolensk, Tambov, Vladimir, Ryazan Regions, Krasnodar Kray, Ingushetia, Dagestan, Perm Kray, Tatarstan, Altai Kray, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) presented new regional routes, tourist products and investment projects there.
In addition to presentations, Roadshow includes business meetings with participation of national tourism administrations, visiting sessions to the objects of tourist infrastructure in host countries.
The German capital has become the first platform, hosting participants of the Russian Tourism Roadshow, including the heads of tourism administrations of Russian regions, non-governmental industry organizations, business community representatives. In April, similar presentations will also be held in Paris and London.
