Indie Extreme/Tiyaga Music artist, Nick Verzosa’s second single “Look Back to Texas” hit both the Texas Music Chart at # 48 and the Texas Regional Radio Report at # 51 this week. The single is the first cut from Nick’s “Smoking Gun EP” produced by Walt Wilkins, and the only one of the 5 songs that is a co-write. “Look Back to Texas” is a collaborative effort of Nick and veteran Texas singer-songwriter, Kyle Hutton.

This Friday night, March 25th, at the Arlington Music Hall TRRR Awards Night, Nick will entertain in the Green Room prior to the awards ceremony at a special VIP event for the nominees and sponsors. After the Awards event, Woody’s Tavern has planned an After Party with Nick Verzosa and the Noble Union performing in celebration of the winners! A coupon for a discount at the door is included in the TRRR Awards Night program.

Verzosa and his band are continuing to get attention across the state as one of the top up-and-coming bands. Upcoming shows opening for the likes of Brandon Rhyder at Swiss Alp Dancehall in Schulenburg, Jamie Richards at the County Line Summer Series in Conroe and Junior Brown at Threadgills South in Austin. As well as shows at some of the area’s top venues such as The White Elephant, Wormy Dog Saloon, Woody’s Tavern, Floore’s Country Store, Saxon Pub and others across the state.

Verzosa recorded “The Smoking Gun EP” with Texas music legend, Walt Wilkins in early 2010. The first single from the EP “Back When Love Was Easy”, rose into the top 30s on both the TRRR and TMC charts. Nick will return to the studio in May 2011 to record the final 7 songs to finish up the album which will be released in September 2011 through Universal/Fontana Distribution.
