A number of pharma and ayurvedic companies have booked by the Telangana drug control authorities because of advertising remedies that can give magical results like emergency contraceptive pills, blood purifier syrups, neuron oils, height-growth capsules, menohelp syrups and ultra-slim capsules.

Telangana government booked 18 new cases within three months under Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisement) Act, 1954, in city and districts. There is a provision of punishment ranged from simple imprisonment to 2,000-5,000 fine for not following this Advertising act. Companies who have booked for this are mainly from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and UP.

T Kailasam, Telangana DCA joint director said that certain diseases that can?t be advertised according to Drugs and Magic Remedies Act (Section 3), drug inspectors identified violations by drug companies that include claims of magic cure on their labels and booked cases against them.

Ayurveda and allopathic drugs both are under the control of Drugs and Magic Remedies Act. Ayush department controlled the manufacturing of ayurvedic products but health department can still file and book cases against ayurvedic products for Magic Remedies Act violation.

Pharma laws like ? Drugs and Magic Remedies Act? made to avoid self-medication and abnormal claims and all the medicines should have to be taken under the supervision of the doctors. If drug companies prints any false claims to lure patients, then cases can be booked against them.
