New Delhi, 15 October 2026: NABARD in collaboration with Anmol Sahara, has launched its 21-day Livelihood and Enterprise Development Programme (LEDP) for women members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in North Delhi and Outer North Delhi. The programme commenced on October 12, 2026, and is being conducted simultaneously at two training centres in Azadpur and Tikri.

The programme aims to empower SHG women by enhancing their skills, promoting entrepreneurship and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. It will train 60 women in making cow dung-based products, candles and festive handicrafts, equipping them with practical skills to establish and manage viable micro-enterprises.

In addition to product-making, participants will receive training in packaging, pricing, digital marketing and sales techniques. The programme will also facilitate linkages with markets, exhibitions and corporate buyers to expand market access and improve sales opportunities. These interventions are expected to help participants start or expand their livelihood activities, generate additional income, particularly during the festive season, and achieve greater financial independence.

Speaking on the occasion, a NABARD official said, “NABARD remains committed to promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities and strengthening women’s economic empowerment through skill development initiatives. This LEDP is designed to equip SHG members with practical skills, entrepreneurial capabilities, and market-oriented knowledge, enabling them to establish viable enterprises and enhance their incomes. While appreciating NABARDs support, representatives from Anmol Sahara said, “Our mission is to empower SHG women to become economically independent. With NABARD’s valuable support, this 21-day LEDP will not only provide skills but also create sustainable livelihood opportunities for women in Azadpur and Tikri.”

NABARD has been supporting livelihood promotion, skill development and enterprise creation to strengthen the Self-Help Group movement and promote inclusive development. Through initiatives such as LEDP, NABARD seeks to enable SHG members to develop sustainable income-generating activities and establish women-led enterprises.

The programme represents a collaborative effort to promote grassroots entrepreneurship and economic self-reliance among women in Delhi. By combining skill development with market linkages and enterprise support, the initiative is expected to enhance livelihood prospects and expand economic opportunities for participating SHG women.
