New Delhi, September 15, 2026: HORIBA India, a wholly owned subsidiary of HORIBA, Ltd., Japan, marks 20 years of operations in the country, signifying its transformation from a sales and service organisation into a manufacturing, advanced R&D, and innovation base. Established in 2006, the company today operates across Energy & Environment, Bio & Healthcare, and Materials & Semiconductor, with capabilities spanning manufacturing, testing, calibration, technology development and customer support for India and the wider SAARC region.

Over the past two decades, HORIBA has established a strong and growing presence in India, with manufacturing facilities in Pune, Nagpur and Haridwar, operations across eight locations and a workforce of more than 600 employees. Building on this established foundation, the next phase of growth will focus on strengthening HORIBA India's R&D capabilities and positioning India as a strategic hub for innovation within the Group. The India business has delivered average annual growth of over 15% and is targeting revenue of JPY 20 billion by 2028, reflecting its confidence in India's long term growth potential and its expanding role in HORIBA's global business.

From Manufacturing to Innovation

A key part of this journey has been the development of local manufacturing and engineering capabilities, starting with hematology reagent production in Haridwar in 2013 and expanded through its Pune and Nagpur facilities. Today these capabilities span healthcare, automotive testing, environmental solutions and semiconductor technologies including Mass Flow Controller (MFC) manufacturing in Pune since 2024.

Moving beyond the 'Make in India' paradigm, HORIBA India's next phase is focused on 'Develop in India' and 'Innovate in India'. This ambition is supported by Technical Centers in collaboration with IIT Delhi and IISc Bengaluru, along with the HORIBA India Technical Institute (HITI) and Experience Zone in Nagpur. These platforms bring together industry, academia and technical expertise to advance technology development, application engineering and capability building, while enabling Indian teams to contribute to HORIBA's global innovation ecosystem.

In January 2026, HORIBA completed the acquisition of Pristine Deeptech, a lab grown diamond R&D company, marking the HORIBA Group's first acquisition in India. The acquisition further strengthens HORIBA's capabilities in advanced materials for emerging applications such as semiconductors and quantum technologies, while creating a stronger foundation for innovation in India. As part of HORIBA India, Pristine Deeptech will contribute to the company's ambition to develop new technologies, products and businesses from India for global markets, positioning India as an increasingly important hub within HORIBA's global innovation landscape.

Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Dan Horiba, Executive Director, HORIBA Ltd., Japan, said, "India has grown from a market for our technology into a base where it is manufactured, adapted, and increasingly developed. Twenty years in, our commitment to this market remains as strong as ever, and we see India playing an even larger role in HORIBA's global growth in the years ahead."

Mr. Hideyuki Koishi, Executive Corporate Officer, HORIBA Ltd., Japan, Chairman, HORIBA India, said, "Our journey in India reflects a steady progression, from sales and service, to manufacturing, to technology development. As we mark 20 years, our focus is on expanding R&D and innovation capabilities locally, so that India contributes not just to its own market but to HORIBA's global technology roadmap."

Dr. Rajeev Gautam, President, HORIBA India, said, "Twenty years is a significant milestone, but we see it as a foundation rather than a destination. With manufacturing capacity in place across Pune, Nagpur and Haridwar, and growing collaborations with institutions like IIT Delhi, University of Delhi and IISc Bengaluru, HORIBA India is well positioned to lead in areas from clean mobility and water to semiconductor process control."

As HORIBA India enters its next phase of growth, the company is focused on deepening its local R&D capabilities, advancing its manufacturing footprint and strengthening collaborations across industry, academia and the wider innovation ecosystem. The ambition is to go beyond participating in India's growth story and play an active role in shaping it by contributing to the development of new technologies, solutions and markets.
