DataVare 2.0 Update Sharpens IMAP to MBOX Backup With Preview Pane, Selective Export and 19 Languages

New Delhi, India, Sep 1, 2026 — Users pulling mail off an IMAP Server and into MBOX format, the file type used by Thunderbird and several other mail clients, now get a look inside their mailbox before anything is saved, as DataVare Software rolls out Version 2.0 of its IMAP Backup tool.

Converting IMAP mail to MBOX is one of the more common reasons people reach for IMAP Backup, whether they are leaving a webmail provider for a desktop client or simply want an offline archive they can open outside a browser. Earlier versions handled the conversion in one pass, folder structure and all. Version 2.0 changes that starting point: a new preview pane lets users open an IMAP folder and see the individual messages inside before deciding what to keep, and a selective export option means the resulting MBOX file can be built from specific folders rather than the entire account.

The redesigned interface trims the steps between entering IMAP login details and starting the export, which the company says was a common sticking point for less technical users. Version 2.0 also adds 19 languages to the interface, a change meant to serve IT staff and individual users working outside English speaking markets who previously had to navigate an English only tool.
