ICAI Strengthens Global Footprint with Inauguration of 55th Overseas Chapter in Ohio

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) expanded its global footprint with the inauguration of Ohio (USA) Chapter recently. Ohio Chapter is the 15th Chapter in the USA and 55th Overseas Chapter Globally. Other Chapters in USA are Arizona, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Michigan, New England, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Washington D.C, Florida, Atlanta, Los Angeles.

These overseas chapters provide a platform for Indian CAs abroad, for furtherance of their professional pursuits and knowledge and promoting affability amongst ICAI members. ICAI overseas Chapters facilitate in bringing foreign investment to India and also assist the Indian Industry by guiding them about the investment opportunities in different parts of the world thereby creating avenues for them to become Atamanirbhar.

ICAI Chapters and representative offices also promote opportunities for networking for the members. These Chapters work as the embassy of ICAI, and the Ministry of External Affairs also recognizes them as trade centres for coordination between India and these countries.

The Ohio Chapter was inaugurated virtually in the Presence of Shri Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, Hon'ble Consul General of India in New York and Ms. Helen Partridge, IFAC USA Chief Financial & Administrative Officer, along with CA. Prasanna Kumar D, President, ICAI; CA. Mangesh Kinare, Vice-President, ICAI; CA. (Dr.) Jai Kumar Batra, Secretary and the ICAI Ohio team.

ICAI has come a long way in strengthening its global presence, since the establishment of its first overseas chapter in Doha, Qatar, in 1981. With the inauguration of the Ohio chapter, ICAI's global network now spans 85 cities across 47 countries, comprising 55 chapters, 30 representative offices, and a robust presence in India through 5 Regional Councils and 186 Branches. This expansion reflects ICAI's steadfast commitment to building a unified, global community of accounting professionals contributing to the economic growth of nations worldwide.
