Republic Day Kids Festival, Kidz-Athon 2026, Brings Patriotism, Fitness, and Family Spirit Together in Chennai.

Many of the participants came alive at SDAT Nehru Park, Chatpet, as the event, Republic Day Kids Festival, was successfully held on January 25, 2026 and organised by Kalama Event Management under Kalam Sports Academy, which changed the park into a celebration of childhood fitness and national pride by engaging children and parents in the broader community.

The event was held on India’s Republic Day, as it was not just a running event but one that connects younger minds to the values of the Constitution of India. The event aimed to help children develop a sense of discipline, equality, teamwork and confidence by offering families an opportunity to celebrate the nation and health.

As the runners arrived at the venue in the early morning, they were excited and in anticipation. Children from LKG to 8th standard, along with participants in the open category and walkathon, gathered wearing their bibs and event T-shirts, supported by parents and guardians who lined up as enthusiastic cheerleaders. The race flag-offs were smooth, with all categories running in a safe environment. As the young participants took their first step and older students pushed their limits in a run that reflects courage and enthusiasm. The 2 km open run and walkathon has expanded participation to adults by making the event accessible to all families.

Registrations were powered by iFinish, which provided a reliable platform that allowed seamless, stress-free registration for participants and parents, from sign-ups to bib allocation. As the event supports, the sport is just a powerful tool for shaping young minds. Participation over pressure, encouraging children to enjoy the movement, build self-belief and pride in completing the run. Every child who crossed the finish line was celebrated, reinforcing the message that effort and courage matter more than speed or rankings.

Participants received T-Shirts, Finisher medals, certificates and refreshments. The top performers were awarded with trophies and medals for maintaining the spirit of the festival. The Republic Day event connected young participants to Indian Democratic values. The event encouraged children to participate and to understand the importance of unity, equality and discipline, which form the foundation of the Indian Constitution.
