Tata Motors launched the Punch in India in 2021 and it did not arrive quietly. Even in a crowded
market, it climbed to the top of the charts faster than anyone expected. Buyers had two clear reasons to pay attention. The pricing made sense and the safety story stood out early, backed by a five-star Global NCAP rating. The facelift sticks to that winning formula. It keeps the focus on the pocket and safety without trying to fix what was never broken.

In facelift form, the Punch has gone through another round of safety testing under Bharat NCAP. The Pure CNG AMT and Accomplished CNG MT variants were evaluated and both secured a full five star rating.

Adult occupant protection scored 30.58 out of 32, while child occupant protection stood at 45 out of 49. These results extend beyond the tested variants. The ratings apply across the entire Punch range, including Smart, Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished trims.

For adult occupant protection, Tata Punch scored 30.58 out of 32. The result comes from a stable passenger cell and well-matched restraint systems. In Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test, the vehicle scored 14.71 out of 16. Protection for head and neck of both driver and front passenger was rated good. Chest loads were controlled and stayed within acceptable limits. Knee protection for both occupants was rated good as well, helped by a clean dashboard layout and footwell area without risky intrusions. Lower leg and tibia readings showed controlled energy absorption during impact. In Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test, the Punch scored 15.87 out of 16. Protection to head chest abdomen and pelvis was rated good. Curtain airbags played a key role here. The vehicle also cleared side pole impact test, showing reliable protection for head and upper body during severe side impacts.

Child occupant protection stood out with score of 45 out of 49. Dynamic tests were carried out using i-Size compliant child restraint systems for an 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummy. Full marks were scored in both frontal and side impact tests. Dummy movement was well controlled while injury readings stayed low across critical body regions. ISOFIX mounts are provided as standard on rear outboard seats. The Punch also scored well in child seat installation and vehicle compatibility checks, making it a sensible choice for families.

Backing up the crash test performance is wide set of safety features. Standard equipment includes electronic stability control, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring, ISOFIX mounts, seat belt reminders for all seats, pedestrian protection compliance, keyless entry, central locking, idle start-stop, follow-me-home headlamps, smart steering wheel, front power windows, and puncture kit. On higher trims, the safety and assistance list expands further. This includes cruise control, hill descent control, rear defogger, anti-glare and auto-dimming IRVM, LED fog lamps with cornering function, and 360-degree surround view camera with blind view monitoring.

Taken together, the Bharat NCAP results show that Tata Punch facelift is built with clear focus on occupant protection. The scores in frontal and side impact tests are convincing. Child occupant safety is equally well handled. Combined with wide spread of standard safety features, the Punch continues to set a high safety benchmark in compact SUV segment.
