Director Rahi Anil Barve's 'Mayasabha' first motion teaser Dropped

The first motion teaser of 'Mayasabha', director Rahi Anil Barve's second feature film releasing in theatres on 16 January 2026, is now out. A new chapter in Indian cinema is about to unfold.

After nearly a decade of experimentation, development, and reinvention, Barve returns with a film shaped by a long and intense creative journey.

Mayasabha - The Hall of Illusion is not Tumbbad, and it is unlike anything the audience has seen before.

In Mayasabha, the audience and four central characters embark on a journey together. The quest for treasure begins at the same moment for both. But as the story progresses, the experiences of the characters and those of the audience begin to diverge. The shocks the characters face are born out of what they find within the narrative, while the audience, on the other hand, is stunned by truths the characters themselves cannot see. Yet the film never distances itself from the viewer; it ensures that the emotional connection with these characters remains intact.

Perhaps the most unusual-and daring-element lies in the climax. Here, Barve boldly discards almost every conventional rule associated with traditional thrillers and takes a completely different route.

Mayasabha marks Barve's highly anticipated return after the acclaimed success of Tumbbad. Known for his powerful world-building, Barve once again explores a realm infused with myth, mystery, and psychological depth - crafting a visual universe enriched with philosophy, tension, and intricate detail. His signature style appears sharper, darker, and far more evocative than before.

Produced by Girish Patel and Ankur J Singh under Zircon Films, with co-producers Shamrao Bhagwan Yadav, Chanda Shamrao Yadav, Keval Handa, and Manish Handa, the film also features Ashish Ningurkar as Creative Consultant. Mayasabha is poised to be one of the most gripping and enigmatic cinematic experiences of the coming year.

Pickle Entertainment presents the film, which will be released across India and overseas in association with Zeus Film.
