Shyam Metalics's Ramsarup Industries to Commission Modern Blast Furnace and Linear Sinter Plant to Boost Steel Production Capacity

Mumbai, National, 3rd November 2025: Ramsarup Industries Limited (RIL), part of Shyam Metalics, one of India's leading integrated metal manufacturing companies, is set to commission a state-of-the-art Modern Blast Furnace with Stove Heating started today and after the completion of all the defined process and preliminary activities this ultra-modern facility is scheduled to commence commercial production by end of November 2025. Simultaneously, the company's Linear Sinter Plant will also be commissioned, with commercial production starting in the third week of November 2025, as part of a Rs 369 crore investment.

This strategic expansion is aimed at enhancing the company's production capabilities to meet the growing demand for high-quality Alloy, Carbon, and Special Steel products through EAF, LRF, and VD processes across multiple industries.

The newly commissioned Blast Furnace has a capacity of 0.45 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), significantly increasing the plant's production output. With a volume of 350 cubic meters, the Blast Furnace is equipped with three top-fired stoves, modern coal injection technology, and a dry gas cleaning plant, ensuring an optimized and environmentally responsible steel-making process. The facility incorporates advanced energy recovery systems, including a 2.5 MW Top Gas Pressure Recovery Turbine (TRT) and 8 MW recovery through the BFG Boiler, contributing to an additional 10% energy recovery. A specialized evaporative cooling system further reduces water and power consumption by approximately 20% compared to conventional systems. The plant's zero process water discharge design promotes sustainability and increases process efficiency.

In addition to the Blast Furnace with Pulverized Coal Injection (PCI) and Oxygen Plant (Oâ‚‚), the Linear Sinter Plant will process iron ore fines into feedstock suitable for the Blast Furnace. This addition is expected to enhance operating efficiency and reduce production costs, aligning with Ramsarup Industries Limited's vision of operational excellence.
