Director Christopher Vinan drew inspiration for the story from a bizarre experience he had years ago when he stumbled upon a bird outside a mortuary screaming for help. The strange and haunting moment stayed with him for years, and he eventually created a character who kills elderly people in a retirement home to bring more business to his mortuary. The story didn't fully come together until Vinan was going through a personal breakup, which led him to channel his emotions into the story, creating a character who kills his wife for cheating on him. The only witness to the crime is, of course, the same bird that inspired the story in the first place.

The film features a talented ensemble cast, including Eric Roberts, an Oscar-nominated actor who plays a crucial role in the film. Vinan and the rest of the crew allowed Roberts to showcase his talents and improvise his scenes, creating the funniest moments as they developed. Roberts' energy, creative choices, and ability to command attention were highly praised by Vinan.

Vinan also commends Breen's natural sense of humor and comedic timing, which catches him off guard during takes. However, Vinan admits that transitioning from short-form internet content to a feature film was a challenge for Breen. Nevertheless, Breen delivers a standout performance in the lead role.
