Afcons sets up 4 M-sand plants in Maharashtra for supply to Samruddhi Mahamarg

02 January 2023: CDE Asia?s Sirocco Air Classifier and Combo X70 Plants for Afcons Infrastructure to aid their mission in completing the 2nd and 14th packages of the Samruddhi Mahamarg Expressway Project

Afcons Infrastructure, one of India's top infrastructure development companies is a prominent contributor to the 2nd and 14th Packages of the ambitious Samruddhi Mahamarg Expressway Project potentially comprising 71.5 km. The expressway is planned to be 6-lane wide (expandable to 8), 701 km long, and access-controlled and slated to reduce commute time between Mumbai and Nagpur from 14 hours to 8 hours.

Afcons Infrastructure Limited installed a total of four CDE Asia plants for the Samruddhi Mahamarg Expressway - 2 Dry Classification -Sirocco W100 Plants addressing water shortage in the sand production process and 2 Wet Classification - Combo X70 Plants for superior sustainable sand supply.

Package 14, which connects the village Taranganpada to village Vashala BK, comprised of Maharashtra?s longest and widest road tunnels. The major requirement for this package was a constant supply of Zone II graded M-Sand. To complete the package, Afcons opted for the finest product from the CDE Asia Combo platform ? Combo X70.

Combo X70 is equipped for feeding, grading, dewatering, water recycling, conveying, and sludge handling, all in one machine. The ambitious plant has zero liquid discharge and a 95% water recycling solution with minimal maintenance to process an accurate cut point of 75 microns of fine particles. The patented Hydrocyclone sand thickener ensures consistent production of M-sand quality as per IS Standard (Zone -II).

The scope of work for package 2 included the construction of two interchanges, 12 service roads, seven flyovers, three major bridges, three Road over bridges (ROB), 102 cross sections, 17 minor bridges, 19 VUPs, 12 PUPs, 81 culvert boxes, and seven canal bridges; connecting Khadki to Pimpalgaon in Wardha.
CDE Asia was the company?s first choice in the search for a consistent supply of eco-friendly Manufactured Sand for the completion of this mammoth project.

For the construction of the 2nd package, Afcons was eager to explore water-saving technologies to address the water-scarcity issue in the area. Convinced by CDE Asia?s pitch of a breakthrough air-classifier technology ? the company installed Sirocco W100. The plant is particularly suited to process without ready access to water and has a feed capacity of 70 TPH with a power consumption of 45 KW. The Sirocco air classifier needs minimal maintenance to process an accurate cut point of 75 microns of fine particles. With its assistance, Afcons Infrastructure became the first company in the entire project to complete the overall work on Samruddhi Mahamarg in Wardha District.
