EVGA has announced their latest Z790 motherboard series that supports 13th Gen Intel Core Processors, PICe Gen5 and DDR5 Memory. This new series of EVGA Z970 motherboards come with two models including Z790 DARK K|NGP|N and Z790 CLASSIFIED.

EVGA Z790 motherboards are powered by EVGA ELEET X1 and feature a simple-to-use interface, which makes it easy for this latest motherboard chipset to overclock or monitor. Besides the excessive overclocking support, the Z90 includes several USB options, 8x SATA 6 Gb/s ports, 10 Gbps and 2.5 Gbps NICs + Wi-Fi 6E / BT 5.2, 7.1 HD audio, 3x M.2 Key-M slots, and 2x pump headers exclusively built for AIO coolers. Also, The EVGA Z790 motherboard supports current and future standards with up to 64 GB DDR5 and up to 7000 MHz+(OC), PCIe Gen5, and PCIe Gen4 M.2 NVMe support.

EVGA Z790 motherboard series has two models, i.e., Z790 DARK K|NGP|N and Z790 CLASSIFIED. Users familiar with EVGA motherboards can identify the robust digital-VRM design, VRM and M.2 cooling, and sturdy low-loss PCB construction. However, the pricing for these high-performance motherboards has been listed on the EVGA store with an MSRP of $829.99 for EVGA DARK K|NGP|N and $629.99 for EVGA Z690 classified.

Overview of EVGA Z790 Motherboards

These two boards from EVGA comes with different specification, but they are also fundamentally different from most motherboards available in the market as they feature rotated CPU sockets and repositioned memory slots; all connected are edge-mounted, including SATA, USB plugs, ATX power, EPS12V pair, followed by at least one fan connector.

While Z790 DARK K|NGP|N and Z790 CLASSIFIED are high-end products aimed at overclockers, the Classified board is usually the first choice of the users out of the two and offers four DDR5 DIMM slots. Still, it is necessary to remember that filling out all four DIMM slots will result in lower memory speeds. As for the K|NGP|N board is limited to just two slots, as the model is focused on extreme overclocking. Hence, whichever board you choose, you get a pair of PCIe 5.0 x16 slots; although the K|NGP|N board supports auto-switching, you can use a GPU installed in the bottom slot at the full x16 speed if needed.

EVGA Z790 DARK K|NGP|N

EVGA Z790 DARK K|NGP|N is with its new layout based on a 14-layer low-loss PCB with a 21-phase VRM that ensures the most extreme 13th Gen Intel? Core? processors perform efficiently. EVGA Z790 chipset motherboards can support current and future standards with around 64GB support DDR5 memory with 4 x DIMMs versus the 2 x DIMMs on the Z790 DARK KINGPIN. This board further facilitates high speed ranging up to 7000MHz+(OC)*, followed by PCIe Gen5 and PCIe Gen4 M.2 NVMe support. These motherboards consist of auto-switches of the x16 PCIe Gen 5 CPU lanes between slots 1 and 2 that power PCIe devices with maximum bandwidth.

EVGA Z790 DARK K|NGP|N board includes several USN options, 8x SATA 6Gb/s ports, 10Gbps and 2.5Gbps NICs + Wi-Fi 6E / BT 5.2, 7.1 HD audio, 3x M.2 Key-M slots, and 2x pump headers exclusively built for CPU AIO. These high-performing motherboards also offer excessive overclocking support. This EVGA system board facilitates the users if they overclock their PCs; for instance, if users plan to overclock their latest Core i9-13900K processor or 6.0GHz+ KS variant sometime in 2023, then EVGA Z790 DARK KINGPIN has got their back. These EVGA desktop motherboards take care of the performance and overclocking of intel's 13th gen Raptor Lake processors and ensure high-end connectivity like a pro.

EVGA CLASSIFIED

The EVGA classified has returned with its latest layout and advanced features compatible with Intel's 13th Gen processors. The classified motherboard, through 13th Gen Intel? Core? Series processors, takes complete advantage of PCIe Gen 5 and PCIe Gen 4, followed by M.2 NVMe SSDs. Further, it can support DDR5 with 128GB capacity and speed up to 6800MHz+(OC) DDR5.

It also features a rotating socket to reduce memory latency and enhance cable management options. All new additions to the motherboard include a 10Gbe network port and two USB4 Type-C ports. At the same time, the board also comprises a 2.5Gbe port + Wi-Fi 6E / BT 5.2, 7.1 HD audio, several USB options, and two DisplayPort Type-C display options.
