Faridabad's Marengo QRG Hospital Launches exclusive Heart Disease & CTVS Surgery OPD in Meerut

With decades of excellence in treating several patients suffering from Cardiac Ailments in Faridabad and nearby regions, Marengo QRG Hospital has now come up with its exclusive Cardio Thoracic & vascular Surgery OPD services in association with the city based Apusnova Multi Speciality Hospital.

The launch of the Heart Surgery (CTVS) OPD services comes ahead of World Heart Day and will cater to free consultations related to heart ailments for the people of Meerut in their vicinity. Starting from today, the OPD services will be available at Apusnova Super Specialty Hospital, Meerut on every Wednesday from 12 noon to 4 PM, where experts from Marengo QRG hospital will be present for consultations.

Doctors from Marengo QRG hospital also emphasized on the growing incidences of various cardiac ailments (especially among the young and middle-aged population) and highlighted the fact that with the advent of latest advancements, how timely intervention plays a pivotal role in curbing the morbidity and mortality rate.

The launch event was addressed by renowned doctor Dr. Aditya Kumar Singh- Senior Consultant & Head, Department of Adult Cardiac Surgery, along with Dr. Tarun Raina Ramman- Senior Consultant & Incharge Paediatric Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery (CTVS) from Marengo QRG Hospital, Faridabad. With the inauguration of these services, patients across all genders, ages as well as socio-economic backgrounds wouldn't need to travel to other cities and instead visit OPDs for regular quality medical services.

Congenital heart defect are defects of the heart that occur due to improper development of the heart during the pregnancy. It is important to know that most cases of congenital heart defect have no known cause and can occur in any pregnancy. Another condition is blueness (cyanosis) of any sort which is a marker of underlying cardiac defect in the overwhelming majority of children and should not be ignored.

The causes of enlarged heart may range from normal variant up to life threatening problems. Common causes of enlarged heart in children can be holes in the heart e.g. ASD, valvular heart disease, a disease which could be congenital or acquired, disease of heart muscle (cardiomyopathy) and fluid around the heart. Low red blood cell count, thyroid disorder, pulmonary hypertension and rare diseases like amyloidosis can also lead to an enlarged heart. The child needs to be evaluated by a Paediatric Heart Specialist to identify the underlying cause of enlargement and further management. Thus, through this OPD services we would like to sensitize the public and parents about the congenital heart defects and the importance of early screening.
