As per the research "The Future of Engagement 2021, conducted by the HR Research Institute, coronavirus has made a huge impact on employee engagement. Many companies reported low levels of engagement. 31% of participants reported that they have been experiencing low levels of engagement for the past 2 years. 7% of respondents said employee engagement dropped by 10% because employees had to work from home. Half of the participants said engagement increased. And 18% there was no effect of coronavirus on employee engagement.

The research revealed that companies that focus on employee engagement practices are more likely to establish a positive work culture. Engagement should be a part of all job departments and levels. When it comes to engagement, employees always care about where they fit the best. Employees' career growth, a sense of purpose, and relationship with the manager are more important than remote work and salary.

However, some tools made work easier while working remotely, such as video interview software for hiring candidates, but the engagement was tremendously affected.

About the survey
The survey was named ?The Future of Engagement 2021,? and it was conducted in September and October 2021. 374 responses were recorded from HR leaders from all industries. This survey was sponsored by Culture Amp, Harrison Assessments, Terryberry, Open Sesame, Achievers, Workhuman, Motivosity, Bonusly, Nivati, and Blueboard.

Major findings of the survey
? Organizations know the value of employee engagement, but these companies don?t prioritize it.
? Respondents of the survey think that engagement has a positive impact on productivity, well-being, customer service, retention, and company brand.
? Only 30% of respondents indicate that their leaders prioritize engagement in the workplace.
? Only 24% of participants indicated that they invest in engagement-related resources.
? Managers don?t have appropriate training on boosting employee engagement. Only 31% of owners train their managers on how to improve employee engagement in the workplace.
? 88% of respondents think that there are some effective ways to measure engagement, but only 63% actually implement these ways to measure engagement.

The research indicates that employee engagement is crucial for a positive work environment. Engaged employees are happier, and more satisfied at their job.
