Gurgaon, 18th August 2022: The academic session for all grades in Amity Global School, the renowned IB World School of Gurugram, has started with full steam and the tiny tots who are beginning the journey of IB Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) have a lot of activities to nurture their intellectual, emotional and social development.

The school recently released its KG Family Letter that described the projects that the little learners have been participating in. Under the IB transdisciplinary theme of ?who we are?, the central idea behind some of the activities was to make the students understand that the choices people make define and build their character.

With emphasis on developing skills that impact students? well-being and enable them to keep their life balanced, the teachers organised different events in their classrooms. The students began to understand valuable approaches to learning via thinking, self-management and social skills.
As they came together to make new friends in their new class, the children of this institution ? counted amongst the best schools in Gurgaon ? introduced themselves to each other candidly. They also put up some colourful emoji charts on the entry doors of their classrooms to express their feelings in the new environment.

What?s more, the KG teachers explained the value of personal hygiene to their students and the importance of brushing teeth twice a day through a story called ?The famous smile?. Children updated their own brushing charts for one week to ensure that they do not forget about brushing during both daytime and before going to bed at night.

By reflecting on some stories narrated in the class, the students also got lessons on social well-being. They saw an online story called ?Helping Each Other? and described their own ways of helping others via drawings. They created a Rainbow fish depicting the message of love and care.
The IB PYP is the first stage of education in AGS Gurgaon that is also affiliated to the Cambridge Assessment International Education. The school offers Cambridge Lower and Upper Secondary programmes to its students in Grades 6 to 8 and 9 to 10 respectively. After these, the students can take up the IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12. Their qualifications then take them to some of the most prestigious universities for further education in any part of the world.
