During the E-meet, the panelists discussed difficulties in meeting organizational security needs while adopting a unique cloud model amidst the current upsurge in cyber threats. The advanced cyber-attacks have shaken the firm's hands in investing in something new to protect their confidential data. Nowadays many businesses seem to be continuously investing in protecting their on-premises solutions. But the risks haven't been identified till now.

Need for Building the Strong Security Transformation Program

The whole discussion revolved around risk management & security governance. The primary purpose of prestigious panel members, including CIO, Group CIO, CISO, and Country Head, to join this Economic Times Digital Roundtable discussion was to listen to the variations in the thoughts of the great speakers.

Lalit Kalra, the moderator and renowned panel person & partner in Cyber Security & Privacy of EY India, took up the session to discuss the primary role of security in the organization's digital transformation. His viewpoints during the panel discussion took it to the next level, as he discussed how every business has taken a different route to imply security over the last few years, but the pandemic has pushed it to a different level. He also came up with many questions on what organizations can adopt to get ahead of the current cloud security threats.

Mr. Ganesh Verma focused mainly on on-premise solutions. In addition, he also discussed how traditional and modern approaches worked individually in the current scenarios. He shared his experiences learned across the journey involved in leveraging first-hand knowledge of AWS Cloud Adoption Framework & unique practices in security. Though, there is an immediate need to shift to the cloud irrespective of the industrial scale. He also added that we can't avoid the risks involved in using the cloud. But all organizations are trying every possible way by following some protocols.

As per Ganesh Sir?s viewpoints, earlier cyber security was not essential, as they were considered among extra services. But it should be a part of the organization as a little faulty setting in the AWS cloud may lead to a bigger issue for the entire system of the firm.
