The Kiran Nadar Museum of Art has been working in partnership with Artreach India since 2015. Artreach India has supported artists through annual Teaching Fellowships, to work intensively with groups of children in care. Through engaging and meaningful programmes which include a planned series of workshops, field trips and year-end exhibitions, this pioneering initiative has grown with every passing year.

With the impact of Covid 19 and the extensive lockdown in India, Artreach has shifted to an online format online since April 2020, from what was previously an in person programme. Recognizing the widening gap in education, and the on ground realities of many care homes in light of the pandemic, these programs have been crafted with care keeping in mind the especially tough year past. The care homes look after large groups of children and young adults. To meet the needs of the moment, Artreach, in partnership with KNMA, is supporting multiple artists through short term Teaching Fellowships. Open Calls for this are released periodically. The first two phases have already run successfully.

For the third phase, we invite proposals from artists to lead two Online Teaching Fellowships; two artists will be selected, to lead one separate Teaching Fellowship each.

Our partnering care homes for the programme are Karm Marg and Rainbow Homes.

To apply, please go to www.artreachindia.org or email us at applications.artreach@gmail.com

About Artreach:

We work with contemporary and traditional Indian and international artists and partner with NGOs, schools, foundations and museums. Our Teaching Programmes support artists to work with children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who have a talent and passion for art; in the Artroom young people explore opportunities, hone skill sets and work with mentors towards careers in the arts. We support long-term Community Projects and interventions, often in difficult or remote areas, where art is used to foster community cohesion. Artreach Intensives result in lively murals painted by children in their homes, schools and community spaces.

Kiran Nadar Museum of Art

Established by art collector Kiran Nadar in 2010, the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) is the first privately-funded museum of art exhibiting modern and contemporary works from India and the sub-continent. Located in New Delhi NCR, India’s capital city, KNMA hosts an ever-growing collection of artworks that both highlights a magnificent generation of 20th-century Indian painters from the post- Independence decades and engages with the different art practices of younger contemporaries.

Sponsored by the Shiv Nadar Foundation, KNMA is focused on bridging the gap between art and the public and fostering a museum-going culture in India. KNMA aims to become a place for confluence, dialogue and collaboration through its curatorial initiatives and exhibitions, school and college workshops, art appreciation discourses, symposiums, and public programs.
