London Organic Host Ethical Fashion Event That Showed the Future of the Industry

?It felt liberating to be a part of such a diverse and inclusive catwalk. This event really should be one for others to aspire to be like as it represented real people? Louise Hunt ? Two time Paralympian and model at London Represents.

London Organic teamed up with Cocktails and Conversations to organise and host the ethical fashion event; London Represents. Sponsored by London Organic Beauty, this event took place at Arboretum on Friday 17th September to champion both the diversity of London fashion and society.

With the event being centred around sustainability, Arboretum proved the perfect destination for London Represents having been previously hailed as:

?London?s most environmentally friendly members club?

The venue offered live botanicals, a jungle ceiling and green themed colour schemes which provided a fitting atmosphere for the various runway shows and other aspects of the event.

London Represents featured ten of London?s most up and coming fashion designers, all showcasing their sustainable collections. Featuring cutting edge ethical streetwear, silk printed second-hand garments and a hand-knitted collection inspired by African hairstyles, the eclectic mix really showed a glimpse into the sustainable direction that fashion is taking. Either side of the runway shows, attendees had the opportunity to browse the designers? stalls, enjoy the on-site photo booth, network with industry insiders, and observe live music performances.

London Organic wanted the runway shows to act as a beacon for change in the fashion industry and provide an accurate reflection of London society with the choice of models. All of the collections were showcased using a refreshingly diverse range of models; many of whom being typically underrepresented in the fashion industry. Joti Gata-Aura, a presenter and influencer who modelled at London Represents shared her experience:

?As someone with a visual difference myself (Vitiligo), it was incredibly important for me to be part of this opportunity on the catwalk to highlight the importance of representation in our society today?

London Represents celebrated the best attributes of London fashion and its sustainable and inclusive future. With a full to capacity venue and buzzing atmosphere there?s no question as to whether this evening was a success. The aim of London Represents was to shine a light on sustainability, inclusivity and diversity within fashion and it achieved just that.
