European Cloud Rax.bg Opens Software-Defined Data Center in Plovdiv Bulgaria

European cloud provider RAX (http://www.rax.bg) has announced the opening of a new software-defined data center in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. RAX provides Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud, Colocation, DRaaS, and business continuity from its new location.
The new POP offers low latency connectivity to all businesses who use RAX's Private Cloud, Colocation, and other web hosting services. The company is routing the Internet traffic locally, saving between 8 ms and 38 ms in round trip delays to IT infrastructure owners.
"Our Plovdiv-based infrastructure is a primary choice for Private Cloud and content service delivery for businesses located in the Bulgarian south. Their average RTT to their Clouds is 1 ms or 2 ms. The local infrastructure is also an excellent choice for disaster recovery colocation and DRaaS for companies in other European countries. They can create a DR plan for their business at the lowest possible annual costs," says RAX's CEO Dimitar Avramov.
"Decentralization of the Cloud service delivery and disaster recovery services is important for the business owners. It is also in line with the process of creating a new decentralized web. Businesses that host their Private Clouds in a local data center enjoy fast connectivity and optimized workflows," explains RAX's CEO. He has also added that although using Private Cloud IaaS on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud offers certain advantages to SMBs, it also increases their data transfer costs and features vendor lock-in.
