COVID-19 Lockdown pushes release of JEE Main Admit Card along with exam to this date

JEE Main is an entrance test for engineering candidates, conducted for admission to various colleges in India such as IITs, NITs, Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other CFTIs. With the delay in the exam further the JEE Main Admit Card will now be released tentatively by 3rd week of August. JEE Main 2020 was likely to be held in April, but due to a coronavirus outbreak, the exam is scheduled in September. The exam will now be held between September 1- 6 due to lockdown 6.0, and some states have highly containment regions.

JEE Main 2020: Important Facts & Updates

JEE Main exam is now delayed till September 1 ? 6, 2020. There will be no change in the syllabus of the JEE Main exam. The admit card for JEE Main 2020 will be released 10-15 days before the released date of the examination. As per reports, the JEE Main Admit card can be released in the 3rd week of August.

Around 10 lakh students had registered for JEE Main 2020. As per the guidelines, if the exam will be conducted, social distancing should be followed at the exam centres for safety purposes. JEE Main 2020 exam centres have been reduced to 233.

Last year they were 264 in India. JEE Main 2020 exam pattern will have the introduction of numerical questions, reduction of total questions, and change in total marks.

What led to the postponement of the exam and JEE Main Admit Card?

Many states of India have extended the lockdown till July 31 because the situation is getting worse in such states like Maharashtra, Nagaland, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu. As per the information of Unlock 2, which will be from July 1, 2020, as public transports are closed, it will be difficult for the students to reach their exam center. As per the report of COVID 19, coronavirus cases are expected to increase higher in the month of July, and in this case, it is a challenge for the students to give their JEE Main 2020.

Hence, many students have wanted to delay the exam further. Students have started posting responses on social media with hashtags like #StudentsLivesMatter and #HealthOverExams etc. The states have extended lockdown, school and colleges are remaining shut, and CBSE has canceled the exam; the demand for JEE Main cancellation is also getting immensely increased. After reviewing the current situation HRD Ministry has postponed the exam till September which also delays the release of JEE Main Admit Card.

JEE Main Admit Card

JEE Main has been tentatively scheduled between 1st September 2020 to 6th September 2020. It has been further postponed from July by considering the numerous requests of students. The admit cards will be displayed by 3rd week of August, 2020 before the examination. Candidates can also change their exam centers by their own preference. JEE Main Admit Card will be released about 15 days before the exam on the official website. Only registered candidates can download their JEE Main 2020 Admit Card from their candidate login.

JEE Main Admit Card: How to download and details

There will be a link to download the JEE Main Admit Card on the homepage of the website. By clicking on that respective link proceed to the option of downloading the hall ticket by the given steps on the website. It can be downloaded by two methods either through application number and password or application number and date of birth. You can click on any one option to reach the downloading screen of the admit card. The method for downloading is given individually on that screen for both the methods.

Steps for downloading through application number and password:

1. First, visit the official webpage of JEE Main 2020 i.e. jeemain.nta.nic.in.
2. Then, mention your application number.
3. After that, mention your password.
4. Now, mention the security pin which you will find below on the screen and then login.
5. Finally, click on the download admit card tab to download the admit card of JEE Main 2020 and save it.

Steps for downloading through application number and date of birth:

1. One must first go to the official webpage jeemain.nta.nic.in
2. Next, click on the download admit card.
3. Now one must select the option i.e. through application number and date of birth.
4. Now mention your JEE Main application number.
5. Then one must enter the date of birth.
6. After that, mention the security pin which you will see below on the screen and then login.
7. Finally, click the ?Download admit card? option and then download the JEE Main admit card. Don't forget to save it for the future purpose.

Rectify the JEE Main admit card 2020 by the following things:

Tally all the details given in your admit card and in case if you find any variation in the details mentioned in the given admit card, send the mail at jeemain-nta@gov.in before the given time.

If you have forgotten your JEE Main Login ID and Password follow the steps mentioned below:

1. In case if you?ve forgotten your application number then can follow the given steps:
2. First, click on the sign in page and then click on the forgot application number.
3. The further page will give you two options you?ve to click on to find the application number.

It will ask you to enter the following details i.e. Candidate's Name, Mother's Name, Father's Name, Date of Birth, State of Eligibility and Security Pin. The application number will be sent to you in a few minutes and then you can login with the same procedure which is mentioned above. Keep your details saved for the future reference.

1. If you?ve to recover your JEE Main Password, click on forgot password which is on the bottom left on the sign page, click on the option reset your password.
2. Further, click the security question. Either you can use the verification code sent via text message to your registered mobile number or you can use a reset link sent via Email to your registered Email ID.
3. A Code will be sent to you on the basis of the option that you will choose.
4. Keep your details saved for the future reference.

You need to carry some essential documents along with your JEE Main Admit Card i.e. passport sized photograph which is used in the application form, valid ID proof, and PwD certificate if the candidate belongs to that category.

JEE Main aspirants must focus on final preparations

Students must not be tensed about the JEE Main test or JEE Main Admit Card and must focus on the preparation. If you have completed the entire syllabus; then attempt regular or online tests and revise the notes from time to time.

While those students, whose preparation was incomplete, can focus more on the preparation, can do chapter-wise preparation and attempt part tests. One can cater to crash courses, which will cover chapter-wise critical topics. Candidates should not panic and waste their time thinking about things that are not in their control.
