This year's Way Out West will be arranged between August 8-10, 2019. Here are some goodies from this year's program.

THURSDAY

Neneh Cherry
She's always been coolest. Long before that pregnant performance with Buffalo Stance at Top of the Pops in 1988, she was involved in making the most innovative punk-influenced funk with Rip Rig & Panic, and over the past decade jazz has been added to that mix on albums with Fire! Orchestra. With last year's Broken Politics , she summed everything up in a rhythmic masterpiece as political and avant-garde as suggestive and immediate. At Way Out West, she is the undisputed queen.

Yxng Bane
The British rapper succeeds with a fingertip mix of hip hop, afrobeat, r'n'b and afroswing. It's a mix that has great potential on a Stay out West stage.

The Japanese House
Young Amber Bain creates dreamy synth pop that can crush and fix your heart at the same time. The Japanese House makes us fall in love, long for adventure and remember the sad ending. Can't imagine a more appropriate gig at the festival for us who want to be affected.

Orville Peck
His crooning, dramatic torch songs and tear-drenching country ballads may seem traditional in all their lingering immediacy. But the secret Orville Peck reveals nothing about its origins, hiding consistently under a giant Stetson hat and behind glittering face drapes and letting texts and videos populate a multicultural queer culture that Nashville has never seen.

FRIDAY

Seinabo Sey
A Seinabo Sey concert is a close to religious experience. Such a magical moment, which only has to be experienced. It hardly feels like I have to explain to anyone why they should see our uncrowned sun queen rule the Slottskogen, but expect a powerful live experience, a plethora of guests and an unforgettable evening.

Charlotte Bendiks
Troms?-born Charlotte Bendiks makes a dark, arctic bodyhouse with video game effects, dark drums and beautiful samples. Like playing Super Mario inside Berghain.

Mitski
Mitski is arguably the coolest New York: the arena that plays at the festival. Since her debut seven years ago, she has not only transformed the American indie rock into something distinctly less male-dominated but has also experimented with sound reminiscent of Bj?rk as well as David Bowie.

SATURDAY

Solange
With its Houston tribute When I Get Home in the back, Solange's appearance can be one of the more intimate and memorable. However, Solange has a habit of setting gigs, so the music editor keeps his thumbs up for the spectacle to go away at all.

Perel
Lika shares dull industrial room techno and sweeping cosmic discohouse with elements of Middle Eastern vibes and bed-room wiping texts in German. In Perel's hands, it does not sound a bit deft, just mesmerizing nicely.

Stormzy
This week, the Stormzy Glastonbury Festival made its appearance. The second youngest solo artist ever to headliner wore a bulletproof vest by Banksy, was guest by, among others, Chris Martin and then universally acclaimed by everyone from Adele to Jeremy Corbyn. Don't miss to see Stormzy take the grimace to the masses on WOW 2019.
