Travis Scott is all set to open up with the first music act at the FORMULA ONE ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX 2019. The acclaimed rapper will be performing at the Du Arena Stage, on Friday for the second post-race concert. With his latest album 'Astroworld' in stores now, fans can expect a ball on the day of the performance.

Yas Marina Circuit had teased the event on May 15 via their social media channels. The first hint was the colour scheme of the post which took inspiration from the cover art of the rapper's latest studio album, Astroworld. The second hint was the flame, which was a direct reference to his hit album LA Flame. It was then followed with a picture of an Eagle. It was connected to the fact that the rapper had previously performed atop a giant Eagle in one of his previous shows. An image of Cactus was connected to Travis Scott's collaboration with the performance sports brand Nike for the limited edition Air Jordan 1 'Cactus Jack' sneakers.
It has been a tradition of the event to invite superstar rappers to perform in the city. Travis Scott is the latest addition to the list of stars that includes prestigious names like Post Malone, J Cole, Jay-Z and Eminem that have performed at Yas Island.

Travis Scott ? Making a name like no other
Travis Scott is a singer and a hip hop producer. He has been associated with the production houses Grand Hustle owned by T.I and GOOD Music of Kanye West. The rapper, known for his heavily auto-tuned, half sung and half-rapped tracks, gained mainstream recognition with Kanye West's Cruel Summers compilation in 2012. He served as a featured artist and a co-producer. Within seven years of his arrival in mainstream music, the rapper made a record of sorts with many platinum singles as a lead artist. This included a streak of four hits, starting from 'Antidote' which was a Single from his hit album Rodeo that debuted at No. 3 in the year 2015. The last two full-length albums, Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight in 2016 and Astroworld 2018 debuted at #1 and were received to wide acclaim. He has also featured in Platinum singles by artists like Rihanna in 'Bitch Better Have My Money', SZA in 'Love Galore' and Drake in 'Portland'. Scott has worked extensively with Quavo on Huncho Jack. Travis Scott has made sure to leave his mark in leading as well as supporting roles.

An audience favourite
It isn't the first time that the rapper will be performing at the capital. It is going to be his second appearance at The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The first was in 2016 when he performed as a part of Beats on the Beach.
Travis Scott performed to an ecstatic crowd at the Abu Dhabi Corniche festival. He thrilled the audience with a fantastic set that had the people asking for more. This was at a time when the rapper was at the brink of stardom. He was being touted as Hip-Hop's next big thing. He lived up to the hype when he performed to his third chart-topping album 'Astroworld' which is counted among the biggest Rap releases of the year. This includes hits like 'Mile High' and 'Sicko Mode'.
The performance is a part of the Rapper's World tour, which included his performances at the NFL Super Bowl Half Time Show in February. The rapper is also scheduled to perform at the Mawazine festival which is going to be held in June at the Moroccan capital of Rabat in Africa.
Travis Scott has been in a relationship with the youngest self-made billionaire, Kylie Jenner. The couple has a year old daughter, Stormi Webster.

A fiery November in Abu Dhabi
The Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix is scheduled in the last weekend of November from 29th November to the 1st of December.
