Mrs. Sohani Hossain has bagged the 'Women Achiever Awards' for 'Business Inspiration in South Asia 2019' . Indian Women Convention 2019 & Women Achiever Awards & Recognitions, the platform where Women Leaders, Women Consultants, Women professionals from across the industry came together with a learning and networking motive, concluded on 25 May, 2019 at The Radisson, Gurugram, Delhi NCR. The convention had industry leaders, including professionals from across India. The conference was hosted by the Wafisilpa Entertainments.

Mrs. Sohani Hossain is the Managing Director, Universal Group, Bangladesh & a Social worker, Lyricist Poet, Play Write, Novelist and Painting Artist. She plays a pivotal role in running the group companies which are Universal Food Products, Universal Unani Pharma, Universal Oil Mills ,Universal Pharmaceuticals ,Greener Rice Mills, Greener Masala Mills, Ananta Cinema Hall , Rupkatha Cinema Hall , Rupkatha Kobbo, Parena Cinema Hall ,Taranga Packaging, Taranga Entertainment, Ratnodwip Resort Ltd .

She is the founder of Sohani Hossain alternative school for Dalit , Pabna and Mobarak Hossain Ratna Medical College Hospital (Proposed).

She has been honoured at 147th Dada Saheb Phalke Award , From Mumbai India, For Special Contribution on Social Welfare(2016), 15th Mother Teresa International Award From Kolkata, India, For Special contribution on Social Welfare (2015), Indo ? Korean Taekwondo International Award, From Kolkata, India and 8th Small Business Award 2019 ,Hall of Fame New Delhi, India.

She is winner of National & International Awards for Social Activity & Poetry Publications, Like Chokh Sahittya Puroskar-2014, Bangla Academy, Kolkata, India, Bangladesh Cultural Reporters Association Award, 2017, Nabachetana Shangskritik Kendra Award-2015, Bangladesh, Pet Wellness Society Award-2016, Kolkata, India.

Question: Please tell us how you ventured into entrepreneurship.
Answer: I was born in a cultural family, in my childhood, I was a class Captain and after that I became involved in politics. I protested wrongdoings since an early age. After my husband mobarakHossain?s death my first priority was my employees and as a result of my dedication and love for my employees who are my children, Universal Group is where it is today.

Question: What are the key areas of work at Universal Group?
Answer: We have grown today into a well-diversified conglomerate, encompassing a wide range of businesses: food,manufacturing, exports, hospitality, construction. But most important is as a woman i love to work for Women. Specially who are abandoned, abused and exposed to drugs I always wish to help them return to normal lives and i also work for thr third gendered community to give them the opportunity to live life with dignity.

Question: What are your plans for Universal in Food industry?
Answer: To me everybody is equal and my battle is against the discrimination of people in this society. I want to work more for the untouchable people.They are no less than any other employee in my Corporation.

Question: What have been the hardships as a women to manage the organization?
Answer: I am a woman that is my power, my inspiration.
Honesty, unity and dedication is the key to manage anything. I always dedicate some of my time to God and always pray to him every time. The word Failure is not in my dictionary.

Question: What are key challenges as a women in your home country i.e. Bangladesh?
Answer: I was beside my husband when he built this corporation. My father in law was involved in the cinema hall business. Due to his interest in the cinema hall business, my husband built 21 halls in the northern part of the country.Even I was inspired to make films and I received recognition for them. My husband was in the food industry and pharmaceuticals business. I am very fond of these two people in my life, they taught me how to swim in deep waters and make good use of opportunities.

Question: How do you see enhancement of role of women in "Global Business Scenario"?
Ans :As i always believe women means power, Don't give up, if I can survive cancer then you can survive anything.

Question: What are initiatives taken by you to support fellow women?
Answer: All my employee are gem so I tried to help them in difficulty by teaching, medical care & establishing. As a woman and a mother of 5 daughters I will support fellow women.

Question: Please share some guidelines for young women who aspire to be successful in business.
Answer: Believe in yourself, you can do anything as I beat cancer. Honesty, unity and dedication is the power. I believe in equality and promote equality. If anyone asks for my help I try to do so as per my abilities.
