After making headlines for digital expansion of its cloud offerings at the Digital India week, Reliance Group?s telecom arm, Reliance Communications has pushed out its next-generation content and Cloud delivery network in five cities, which could span out to eleven in the next two-three years, across India.

The company has announced deployment of Cloud Xchange (Cloud X) nodes in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Cloud Xchange is the company?s cloud computing-cum-delivery solution that boosts infrastructure provisioning and makes the deployment of complex multi-tiered enterprise applications directly on to enterprise networks extremely compatible with average turnaround as quick as a few minutes.

?Cloud X is changing the paradigm of Cloud Computing. The network must now undergo a profound transformation, from a static entity to a dynamic, intelligent, application- aware fabric that can support multiple traffic requirements, diverse geographies and flexible pricing models,? said Bill Barney, Chief Executive Officer, Reliance Communications (Enterprise) and Global Cloud Xchange.

Group Chairman Anil Ambani had earlier this month said that the company aims for across-the-board deployment of its next-generation content and cloud delivery network by the year end. The five fully operational Cloud Xchange points are a first for India.

Stressing on how Cloud X could be the next game-changer for government offices and departments, Ambani had said that deployment of Cloud Xchnage nodes could scale up compute power storage by a massive 240 times and high-speed storage by over six times.

He added on that Reliance Group would invest Rs 10,000 crore towards expansion of its digital cloud and telecom space. RCom and its digital subsidiary, Global Cloud Xchange, have over the past one year been working towards scaling up cloud support framework by self- provisioning of network resources and bandwidth-on-demand.

As the largest provider of data center facilities in India with 11 data centers and over 600,000 square feet of infrastructure setup across the country, the Reliance Group pioneers digital revolution in India, with Cloud Xchange being one of their flagship initiatives.
