Developed by Wayne Dysinger, MD, MPH to combat diabetes and hypertension, the 4 Pillars involve eating healthy, incorporating exercise into your life, managing stress and socializing. The day?s event will include a cooking demonstration by nutritionist Laura Davis and each guest will receive a free copy of her pocket cookbook of easy-to-prepare meals designed to feed two. Next, Dysinger will lead the group in some gentle exercises then offer tips to manage stress. After a Q&A session, guests will be encouraged to mingle with fellow guests in a socialization exercise. Immediately following, samples made from the healthy cookbook along with beverages will be served.
Dysinger has earned an international reputation as a leader in lifestyle medicine and is Chairman of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine. He also serves as medical director of the Lifestyle Medicine Institute and is a professor at Loma Linda University.
