The Third National Convention ​of Dakshinayan - for the freedom of expression, held at Nagpur

Nagpur, 30 January 2018; The Dakshinayana initiative of writers, activists, film makers, artists and thinkers emerged in response to the assassinations of Dr. Dabholkar, Comrade Pansare, Dr. Kalburgi, Gauri Lankesh and return of awards by distinguished writers and artists.

The First National Convention of Dakshinayana was held at Dandi in Gujarat on 30 January January 2016.
The second National Convention was held at Margao, Goa, in November 2016.
The Third National Convention held at Wardha & Nagpur on the 29 &30th January.

A majority of delegates arrived at Wardha on the evening of the 29th January and stayed in various Ashram institutions.

On the 30th January morning, delegates formed themselves in small groups of 20 to 25 and discussed how ' Abhivyakti' can be safeguarded.

They traveled to Nagpur after lunch. Nearly 300 delegates arrived directly in Nagpur on the evening of the 29th.

They spread themselves over 25 colleges and address the students on the morning of the 30th.

In the second half of the 30th January, they visited to visit the Diksha-bhumi.

At this stage, all delegates were together and many from the region and Nagpur will joined (approximately 3000 persons).
Shri Rajmohan Gandhi and Adv. Prakash Ambedkar addressed the audience, at Public Meeting at Dhanvate National College.

The Convention concluded with. a performance of Shahir Sambhaji Bhagat and other artists in Maharashtra.

Since the Nagpur convention was for bringing thoughts together, it was called call 'Samas' (connecting units of meaning to produce new meaning).
