Jaipur Sees 10 Per Cent Growth In Tourist Arrivals This Season

Jan 11, 2018: This winter season Jaipur has become the top tourist spot as domestic as well as foreign tourists, including celebrities, are visiting the place in large numbers. According to the estimates the number of tourists arriving the beautiful Pink city has increased by 10 per cent towards the end of 2017. Tourism department confirms that the surge in tourist footfall is about 10 per cent this year compared to last year.

Rajasthan tour operator body says that most of the foreign tourists visiting the city are from European countries. They celebrated Christmas in Rajasthan and will be welcoming the New Year also in the amazing state.

Jaipur hotel body says that the hotel occupancy presently is nearly 80 per cent as the tourists are rushing to the city.

There is no surprise in the data as the pink city is too mesmerising to ignore. The top spots to explore here are-

Hawa Mahal: The most celebrated landmark of Jaipur, the palace of winds was built in 1799 by Sawai Pratap Singh, known as poet king.

Jantar Mantar: The word Jantar Mantar means ?calculation instrument?. Built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh this unique structure is listed in UNESCO World Heritage list.

Amber Fort: Amber (pronounced Amer) Fort is one of the most important destinations in Jaipur. It is a fascinating example of blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture.

Jal Mahal: Built for royal duck shooting parties the Jal Mahal is a pretty palace in Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur. It was built by Sawai Pratap Singh, the ruler of Jaipur from 1778 to 1803.

Birla Mandir: India?s famous business family, Birla family received a part of land from the Maharaja of Jaipur for a token of one rupee and they built this spectacular temple.

Albert Hall (Central Museum): It is the oldest museum of Rajasthan. It was christened after the Prince of Wales Prince Albert Edward, who visited the state.

According to estimates, on the Christmas Eve 16034 tourists visited Amber Fort while 9224 tourists visited Jantar Mantar. The footfall in Hawa Mahal and museum was 6974 and 5199 respectively on December 25.
