​Saroj Cardiac Sciences in association with UPF conducts mini - marathon

September 2017: With an aim of motivating and encouraging women empowerment, Saroj Cardiac Sciences at Indian Spinal Injuries Centre (ISIC), Vasant Kunj partnering with United People?s Front (UPF) organised a Mini Marathon FOR Empowering Women at Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.

The mini marathon held with over 400 people took part from the city including the guest of honour Mr. Shyam Sunder Jaju, National Vice president of BJP who addressed the Vasant Residence and emphasized upon the importance of women in changing the Indian society. Present along with him were BJP Secretary Smt Shobha Upadhyay, ward commissioner Mr. Inderjeet, singer VIP Vipin Kumar and the fitness ambassador Ms Nidhi Mohan Kamal. The mini marathon was flagged off at 7 AM in the morning with participants of all age category where minimum being 10 years and maximum 82 years.

Participation of Special children from Navjyoti school, Pratibha Kanya OR Vikas Vidayalaya, Vasant Kunj was also commendable.

Along with the joint initiative taken up by Saroj Cardiac sciences and ISIC, the mini marathon partnered by UPF to effectively spread awareness about gender equality in all aspects for the society was a grand success.

All the participants were felicitated with participation certificate and T-shirt along with 12 winning prices and medals. 82 years old Kaushal Sharma and 76 year old Suman Kumar bagged the first position in the oldest winner category. In the 8 Km boys category Akshay, Nitin Malik and Ajay held the top three positions respectively and Shingini,Poonam Sharma and Ruhika in the girls category. Neha Pandey, Kumkum Mourya and Nishtha Gupta were the toppers to finish in the 4 Km girls category while Lalit Yadav and Mohit in the same category for boys.

\"We received overwhelming response and support from the residents and associated groups like Inner Wheel Club, Lions Club, Gunjan Ladies Club, etc. This event was a great success in raising awareness amongst the masses. The event was intended to motivate the individuals to take necessary steps towards understanding and providing importance to women in the society along with health cause to stay fit at any age.? ?Women have a significant role to play in the society and hence empowering women will help us grow economically, politically and personally as well. By creating such awareness programs, it is sure to improve the performance in industries with gender diversities. In a massive show of solidarity and unity for the purpose of spreading the message for women empowerment, senior functionaries from major political parties and Government officials to name a few took part for this important cause. All the participants believe that there is massive need for such events to generate awareness among the masses about the status of women in the society.

The organizing committee also thanked the police authorities, involved administrations and the municipal corporation for all their support and cooperation in making the marathon successful.
