Bhubaneswar, 15th March, 2017 ? International Conference of Forestry Food and Sustainable Agriculture (ICFFSA) is scheduled on 19th March, 2017, Sunday at Hyderabad in Telangana. This one day event organized by WRFER (World Research Forum for Engineers and Researches) is expected to bring together industrial experts and academicians on a common platform. Registered papers in this conference would be published by World Research Library and submitted for reviewing and subsequent indexing by Google Scholar.

Scholars and industrialists from across India are to participate in this event and offer lectures on different topics about forestry food and sustainable agriculture. Lectures and papers that supposedly make significant contributions to the subject would be awarded in this event.

Forestry food
In a country like India it is always desirable to exploit alternative food supply sources. Forestry food is one such alternative source. India?s 20 percent land area is under forest which is approximately 65 million hectares. This vast area if appropriately harnessed could be a sustained source of food especially for those staying in fringe and forest outskirts. Forests could be abundant sources of fruits such as berries, bananas, mangoes, plums, and dates. Indian forests could also be sources of meat. Jungle fowl, partridge, and quail are bird varieties that yield meat fit for human consumption.

The entire process of growth and development for forestry food is the aim of ICFFSA 2017. This development of food source is not just a single exercise but a sustained procedure involving agricultural processes undertaken by government and other bodies.

Sustainable agriculture
For any development project it is necessary to adopt processes that are sustainable over a long period. Short term augmentation programmes though yield results faster, are not advisable for long runs as they are costly and have other adverse effects.

This convention in Hyderabad is an effort in making forestry food sourcing a sustainable and beneficial process. Experts and academicians from different parts of India would discuss this issue on a common platform. Long lasting and beneficial issues are likely to emanate from this convention beginning within a week?s time.
