The odyssey of Interior Design and Architecture in India took a massive leap for the development of the Fraternity. All the well known Interiors Designers , Architects and all the related vendor company echelons came under one roof to proof their metal in the International Market. And the place to be was Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on 3rd Dec 2010.
The Event was organized in association with Zak Trade Fair and Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd. and co sponsorship of 3M ,Greenply Industries, Indo Simon , Jaquar ,Philips and Somany which comprised of a Symposium on “Hospitality-Luxury & Leisure” , presentation given by 2 International Speakers and 3 Indian Speakers, Best Five 2010 Design Competition on “Furniture and Accessories” , the Award Ceremony for the Best Five Competition and the Exhibition, one of the biggest for the Interior Design and Architecture.
The Design Competition- “Best Five 2010” was a big excitement with over 63 participants and over 137 entries. The entries were short listed on the basis of Best entry of the 63 participants and showcased in the Design Lounge at the Exhibition -3rd Dec to 5th Dec 2010. The entries comprised of technically and aesthetically great works of creativeness, both by the Professionals as well as by the Students.
The Event started with a Pre –Symposium Cocktail/Dinner at the Eros Intercontinental, Nehru Place, New Delhi on 2nd Dec 2010 which was attended by all the Senior Architects and Interior Designers from Delhi and outside.
The Registration for the Seminar started with an overwhelming audience which comprised of elite Designers and Students who came all the way to attend this massive Event for the Interior Designers & Architects.
The Event was inaugurated at 9:00 a.m. on 3rd Dec 2010 at Hall No :18 in Pragati Maidan with the Lighting of the Lamp, a Specially crafted Wooden Boat -22ft long by Designer: Sanjib Chatterjee which was decorated with over 500 diyas and flower petals, proved to be Show stealer for the entire Exhibition. The Lighting of the Lamp was done by 101 Senior Architects and Interior Designers.
The Inauguration Ceremony was followed by the Presentation of the Speakers where the topic was on Interiors of Hotel- “Hospitality- Luxury & Leisure” which mesmerized the audiences with their exquisite line of work. The Seminar was attended by 427 people, Interior Designer, Architects and Students. In order to make the Session interesting Philips and Maspar distributed gifts to the audience in the form of a lucky draw.
Also the IIID- DRC Desk Calendar 2011 was released by Petter Abrahamsen, Oslo ,Norway-Keynote Speaker for the Seminar. The Calendar featured the prize winning entries of the IIID Photography Competition held amongst Design Professionals and Students which were judged by Mr. Jatin Das –Artist and Mr. Raghu Rai - Photographer.
The Seminar recessed for lunch which was organized for the participants at the venue.

As the presentations ended, everyone’s emotions ran high with excitement, enthusiasm and suspense for the Award Ceremony for the Best Five –Design Competition 2010. The results for the Best Five Competition were declared and presented by the Speakers to the Innovative Designers both in the Professional Category and the Students Category.
