Aderoju Ademoroti: Two Years Out of School, Seven Years as CEO

Aderoju Ademoroti is proud that he is celebrating his two-year anniversary as a Lagos Business School (LBS) alumnus. Ademoroti graduated from the Lagos Business School in 2010. However, Aderoju Ademoroti was happy to return to school, and had already been a CEO of a prominent Nigerian company for five years.

Aderoju Ademoroti is known for his ambition and drive, and his passion for furthering himself is considered unwavering by his colleagues and business partners. “I thought I still had a few things to learn,” says Aderoju Ademoroti. However, many say his comments are far too modest.

After all, Aderoju Ademoroti graduated from the University of London in 1997, a renowned University. After graduating, he spent three years as a Managing Partner at a business strategy firm and a few years as COO of a petroleum company. His education and experiences came in handy as a student at the Lagos Business School.

“I try not to think of past accomplishments and experiences,” says Aderoju Ademoroti. “Instead, I’m always focused on what’s happening now, and what’s going to happen in the future. I felt like returning to school would be a good way to remain focused on the future.”

As CEO of Astro Soccer Nigeria Ltd. (ASNL), Aderoju Ademoroti must stay very focused on the future. His seven years as CEO have been marked with great success, but Ademoroti believes that “success without forward-thinking drive will amount to nothing in the end.” Aderoju Ademoroti is known for following the mantra: It’s not yesterday that matters, but today.

As Aderoju Ademoroti celebrates his two years of alumni status with the Lagos Business School, he still remains quite connected with the educational institution. Ademoroti is President of the Owners Managers Programme (OMP 13) at the Lagos Business School, and is also a member of the Governing Council at the Lagos Business School.

“[The Lagos Business School] is a special place,” says Ademoroti. I am pleased to be associated with it.”

Aderoju Ademoroti welcomes all questions and comments regarding his experiences at the Lagos Business School. He may be contacted at Lagos, Nigeria.
