Jacob Taccardi is Dedicated to Public Service

There are many career paths that fall under the umbrella term of "Public Service." When you think of a public servant, you may think of someone who works in your local police office, perhaps your elected city officials; but someone who helps the community is also helping perform a public service. If you go around and pick up garbage of the side of the road, then you are conducting an act of public service. You are not only helping keep the environment around you clean, but you are helping keep your community healthy. And an area free of garbage and clutter is undeniably more aesthetically pleasing than a community in disrepair.

That is why in there are laws in place to discourage people from throwing garbage out car windows or letting their yards become cluttered. And while your city officials and local police may not be recognized for all the public works they maintain, there are those who still look to public servants with respect for their positions and the duties they perform.

Even from a young age, children can identify the uniform of a police figure. It is probably one of the earliest career fields we are aware of. You may have even have been taught as a child that if you lose your parent to go to a police officer and tell them you are lost. Police represent a symbol not only of authority but also of trust. They work hard to keep us safe and are dedicated to the community in which we live.

Jacob Taccardi has much respect for the field of police work. In 2010, Jacob Taccardi graduated from the Herndon Virginia Youth Police Academy and became a Virginia State Police Academy Junior Law Cadet. And just as is expected of our police officers, Jacob Taccardi is certified to perform CPR and to administer First Aid. He was recognized the same year by the Mayor of Herndon, Virginia and received the Certificate of Responsible Citizenship.

Jacob Taccardi is proud of the recognition he has received and encourages everyone to be proud of and support their local public servants. If you are interested in learning CPR, you can look for certification programs available near you in your communities.
