During her years as a flight attendant, Stephanie J. Whitus made many international airplane trips. While she enjoys air travel immensely, she's proud to announce that she'll be taking an entirely different type of trip this fall. From her home in Salt Lake City, Utah, Stephanie J. Whitus will be travelling to Alaska via cruise ship.
"Travelling by air can be exciting as you can wake up in one place and go to bed in an entirely different place altogether," Stephanie J. Whitus says. "It’s almost like time travel in that way. But, I wanted to try out something a little different on this trip, enjoying the journey as much as the destination. Cruising seemed like the best way to do that."
Many prominent cruise ships are offering Alaska trips this season. They can be very appealing options, as the Alaskan countryside often looks quite different from urban landscapes, and the trip isn't so lengthy that it becomes arduous or expensive. For cost-conscious, experienced travelers like Stephanie J. Whitus, cruises to Alaska seem ideal.
"I like to travel, but like most people, I also like to get the most value for my dollar," says Stephanie J Whitus Salt Lake City, Utah
. "It also just pays to be cost-conscious right now with the economy in the state it's in. I didn't want to spend a lot and regret it later. The lower price of the cruise really appealed on that front. I looked over many different types of trips, and I just felt the Alaska cruise was the best bet for me right now."
Upon her return to Salt Lake City, Utah, Stephanie J. Whitus will likely begin planning for her next trip.
"I love to plan for trips, thinking about where I will go and what I will do when I get there. It's a bit of a hobby of mine," she says. "I'm hoping to go to Australia and New Zealand in the next few years, but I haven't yet settled on how I'll get there or what I'll do when I am there."
