Lithium Battery Safety Course Now Available From COSTA

Canadian Online Safety Training Association (COSTA) provides extensive training on lithium battery hazards.

The Canadian Online Safety Training Association (COSTA), in partnership with Safety Coordination Services, is now offering an online lithium battery safety course that thoroughly explores the use of lithium batteries in industry and the hazards associated with their use.

Companies employing workers who regularly use directional drilling tools will benefit from having their workers fully aware of the occupational hazards associated with the use of lithium batteries such as venting, rupture, and explosion, which can lead to fires and severe burns.

COSTA’s online safety training course covers topics including lithium battery history, uses of lithium batteries in the oil and gas industry, lithium metal properties, MSD sheets, handling requirements, general lithium battery dangers, and short term exposure limits.
