PASTOR Phil Cropper is in a fight for your soul, he want to see you in his church ASAP!

Phil Cropper the Gold Coast’s Upper Coomera pastor (pictured right) is trying to attract new members to his C3 Church by holding a charity fight night to get people through the door.

The event will be held tomorrow and a boxing ring will be set up inside the church to cater for seven main events across fight codes including karate, jujitsu, sumo and wrestling. There will also be celebrity appearances. Phil cropper was quoted saying “I’m really excited to get this event underway, it’s been on the back burners for a while now and I’m really glad I put some more time and effort into organising it.”

Pastor Phil Cropper said the idea behind the fight night was to banish the stereotype that church was only for the old or religious. He wants to bring a new vibrancy to the church, and see some new young faces participating.

Proceeds from the fight night, which starts at 5pm, will go towards helping local girl McKenzie Tamala receive the vital equipment needed for her rare cerebral palsy disorder.

This is what Pastor Phil Cropper had to say after the event, "WOW what an amazing result!!! And what great support the community came with. Firstly to answer the question did it attract new people? YES it did. We had 450 people show up and over half of that were people that don't attend the church. This event brought in people that would normally step into church doors. Secondly - We were there to raise money for a little 3 year old girl by the name of McKenzie. Over $7500 was raised that night with more promised by local businesses. Thank you all!!!"
