Mikazuki Publishing House has announced it has launched toy company Houdin Toys. Houdin Toys, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mikazuki Publishing House is named after the ultra-famous clockmaker and master magician Robert Houdin. Houdin Toys
will be publishing board games, card games, dice games, gamebooks, and interactive toys. Mikazuki Publishing House Chief Executive Officer Kambiz Mostofizadeh said “Houdin Toys is a great addition to our brands and I am confident in the positive swing in game and toy sales in the current economy.” There has been a recent upsurge in toy and game sales as families search for products that initiate greater family interaction. The rise in sales has been attributed to a “time-starved” culture that has resulted in families having less quality time to spend with together. A spokesperson for Houdin Toys said "Houdin Toys is a complimentary and natural fit for Mikazuki Publishing House
. We feel that Houdin Toys’ dedication to innovation is its differentiating attribute that will define its mainstream appeal. Mikazuki Publishing House is dedicated to our success and our vision for toy and game innovation." Houdin Toys will be releasing board games
Magicians Dilemma and Ronin Revolt in mid-Summer 2012 with dice game Bright Eyes to be released in late summer 2012 .
