Charlotte, North Carolina- May 24th, the Community Building Initiative held its annual conference for Leaders Under 40. The attendees were an influential mix of trailblazers representing public, nonprofit, corporate, and spiritual sectors of the Charlotte community. The goal of the luncheon was to bring together a mix of young people who have shown with their actions that they are ready to inspire and lead Charlotte to a brighter future. Bringing them together, CBI’s hopes will get them to work together, and in turn creating an even bigger impact than they would alone. CBI believes that personal relationships are extremely important and vital to the positive growth of Charlotte and its surrounding communities.

After creating these relationships the next step is honest and open communication. CBI believes that this is the way problems are solved successfully. CBI’s mission is to enable civics’ most important conversations and with the help of the Leaders Under 40, they believe they can create a more inclusive community for everyone. The lunch was just one in a series of conferences that will be held over the course of the year. Each session is another important step in reaching CBI’s goal of community inclusion. This meeting is also an opportune time for participants to meet people from other professions that they normally wouldn’t cross paths with. LU40 members are able to exchange ideas and opinions in an open and honest open setting beginning a conversation that will continue throughout the rest of the year. From past events, strong relationships and powerful partnerships have been formed by former honorees; CBI is hopeful that this trend continues with this group.

CBI has partnered with a full-service marketing firm, CGR Creative, to broaden and strengthen their web presence. CGR Creative attended the Leaders Under 40 conference to take pictures, which can be viewednow on CBI’s Facebook page. The President and CEO of CGR Creative, Julio Colmenares Web Designer sponsored one of the Leaders Under 40, Antonio Archbold. Julio was present for the luncheon and is looking forward to watching this group of young leaders come together for the betterment of Charlotte.
