Stephanie Cordeiro Cesar, well known for her work within the banking industry, is proud to announce that she's been recognized for her charitable contributions. Recently, she was provided with a Best Motivational Speaker Award by a hospital in Brazil as recognition for her work with stomach cancer patients.
The award came as a surprise to Stephanie Cordeiro Cesar, who engaged in the work only to help people in her community, not to win any awards.
"When they announced the award, I was a little shocked, to be honest," she says. "I had no idea that the hospital even handed out awards like this, and I didn't know anyone was measuring my performance and ranking my work against the work of other volunteers. I had just wanted to help the patients, and I was focused on that, not on winning an award."
Regardless, Stephanie Cordeiro Cesar
reports that she is pleased and honored to be recognized in such a public fashion. Being publically thanked for her hard volunteer work is very gratifying.
"I am deeply touched that the patients and the hospital administration felt that I'd done some good with my volunteer time. I worked hard to pull together the speeches I gave to the community, and it's nice to think that all of that hard work paid off and I was able to reach some people and encourage them to keep fighting," says Stephanie Cordeiro Cesar
. "It's an award I am likely to treasure for the rest of my life."
Stephanie Cordeiro Cesar
was well prepared to deliver amazing speeches due to her educational background and her extensive work experience.
"While in school, I took several courses on public speaking, and when I entered the job market, I was asked to give a variety of very public talks," says Stephanie Cordeiro Cesar. "By my count, I've created and presented more than 50 briefings or presentations to high-level business executives. I know how to pull a speech together and deliver it properly."
In addition to this volunteer effort, Stephanie Cordeiro Cesar has also donated time to Habitat for Humanity, the Humane Society, the Boys and Girls Club and the Special Olympics. She also volunteers with her local church.
"Giving back is something my family has always thought was important," says Stephanie Cordeiro Cesar. "I'm sure I'll be volunteering for many years to come."
