Icreon, a leading global technology services firm is organizing a weeklong extravaganza to celebrate the 32nd Earth Day in its Noida Offices from 23rd – 27th April 2012.
Aimed at showing love and care for the Earth, Icreon started with the initiative of celebrating Earth Day two years back, in 2010. Today, in its third year, the initiative has been rolled from a day’s event to that of a weeklong event to generate awareness about the cause amongst the Icreon team members.
Speaking on the initiative, Jasmine Sareen, Vice President, HR at Icreon mentioned, “We all care for the Earth and want to make it a better place to live in. Not only is Earth Day a perfect day to review our actions, but also the time to undertake initiatives to bring back the youth of our Planet.”
She further added that, “For the week, we have planned numerous activities that will showcase Icreon’s commitment to introducing green and environment-friendly initiatives; and are extremely excited about it.”
With a purpose to involve each and every member of Icreon to undertake eco-friendly initiatives (even if small) in their personal lives, Icreon-ians will plant saplings in clay pots and they will have the sole responsibility to look after them. In addition, every day between 1 PM and 3 PM, no usage of lights will be observed to help save electricity.
Furthermore, a special awareness camp to educate Icreon-ians about sustainability and environment protection is being organized with representatives of a leading International NGO – GreenPeace.
Some of the other activities include wearing green for the cause; contests including creating desktop wallpapers and giving captions to wallpapers – Caption It, and creating items from recycled/reusable material; and sharing eco-tips.
