PB Retail enters into cash n Carry with its largest store in Palam

New Delhi, April, 2012 – Moving ahead with its expansion spree, PB Retail, the leading infants and kid’s wear retailer in Delhi NCR, announces its entry in Cash and Carry format with its largest stores in Palam. The store spread in an area of over 12, 000 sq ft is the largest flagship store in Palam to provide one stop-shopping solution for kids and infant’s apparel, Footwear, Fashion Accessories, Personal care products, bath accessories and baby gear and stationary. This is third consecutive store in Dwarka. This counts for a total of six “My Mart” stores, four in Delhi and two in NCR.
The store which caters to all the needs of infants and kids accessories across all categories has also incorporated a unique strategy to cut down the operational cost of the store and provide direct benefit to the consumers. This is the first-of-its kind non Air Condition (AC) store to cut down per square ft maintenance cost in the area, providing direct benefit to its potential customers involved in cash and carry business. A cooling process based on traditional way of keeping the store cold and breezy has been adopted with over 700 fans instilled in two storey building. Also the marble flooring has been replace by vinyl flooring to cut down the operation and maintenance cost of the store.
This store is the one stop solution for 0-14 yrs spread over 12, 000 sq ft area. This promises to bring a unique and valuable shopping experience for both end-consumers and professional customers engaged in cash and carry business.
At the launch Mr. Pawan Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director, PB Retail said “Aiming to give benefit to our potential customers involved in cash and carry business, we have tried to cut down the operational cost in the area, so that they can be directly benefited. Usually the operational cost varies from Rs 12 -15 thousand per sq ft. This time we have replaced costlier cooling mechanism of Air Conditions with a traditional way of cooling system, which is as effective as ACs but much economical thereby reducing the maintenance cost to Rs 800 per sq ft. This will help us to reduce the relative cost of the products for the wholesale retailers. This is our first budget store in cash and carry format.”
This cost cutting will help us to focus more on the quality and variety of products. The products including apparel, toys, footwear, fashion accessories, personal care products, bath accessories, baby gear and stationary will be priced 8-10% economical than what is available in the market, he added.
Apart from this our next big step is to enter in the northern region starting with Uttar Pradesh, which has huge potential for kids wear products. By the end of this financial year we plan to open 8-10 more stores including Delhi NCR and UP.
