In its fourth edition, the Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup (TEGC) is all set to reprise the success of its previous three versions. This year is bigger, better and crazier as India?s beloved tournament is ready to rock the gaming circuit with two of the most sought-after games to give players a chance to come out all guns blazing.

The elimination rounds for the pan India championship started in Chennai on 1st September with an impressive line-up of five major cities including Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Delhi following suit. The fourth season of the TEGC will offer a more versatile collection of games such as DOTA 2 and Counterstrike GO.

TEGC holds a pride of place in India?s gaming circuit because it boasts of association with some of the best gaming technology in the world. Taiwan has been known as the Mecca of gaming for decades now. Be it gaming technology, products, accessories or some of the most superlative gaming tournaments in the world, Taiwan has always been looked upon as the Holy Grail.

This year, even before the actual rounds have started, TEGC has already made a place for itself in the hearts of innumerable gamers thanks to a special gaming vehicle christened # TE Gaming Rig which embarked upon an exciting journey in July touring 50 locations across India. The quirky automobile boasting of an uber cool design was laden with some of the world?s best gaming products, accessories and gaming experiences from Taiwan -- the ultimate gaming destination. The idea was to create awareness about the TEGC and give people a chance to experience the best of gaming technology.
In its current avatar, TEGC will challenge gamers to battle it out for the most coveted cup and winners will take home a cumulative cash prize of Rs 10 lakh. After the eliminations, 12 teams will qualify from the six locations to play in the Grand Finale which will also be streamed live on Twitch TV and YouTube. The Grand Finale will be held on October 27 and 28 in Mumbai?s Infinity Mall, Malad West. The two-day long gaming carnival will be open to all interested audiences.

Leading Taiwanese brands like Acer, ADATA, Asus, BenQ, Cooler Master, D-Link, FSP, Gigabyte, In Win, MSI, Optoma, Thermaltake and Transcend will be showcasing their cutting-edge gaming products during the tournament this year too.

To participate in the TEGC, enthusiasts can register on http://www.tegamingcup.com/#Schedule. However, it should be noted that registering online does not mean a team slot for the eliminations is confirmed. Participants will have to be present with their teams for the elimination rounds at the respective venue between 10 am and 12 pm on the first and second day of the elimination event to get a registered slot confirmed. Registrations will close on the second day of the event once the slots are full.

Speaking about the TEGC, Michael Lin, Director of the Taipei World Trade Centre Liaison Office in Mumbai, said, ?This year, TEGC started on a unique note with our special gaming vehicle TE Gaming Rig visiting so many cities to talk about the tournament and also to give people a first-hand experience of some excellent gaming gear. The response to the vehicle has been amazing. Buoyed by it, we are now very excited and looking forward to this edition of the TEGC because it is definitely much bigger with greater prize money. I hope gaming enthusiasts from across India are geared up to battle it out. I am sure gamers will shower their love upon us like they have done in the past three years.?
