Mesmerizing Rajasthani Cultural Shows In Brazil

Visit of the 13 member cultural delegation of the Government of Rajasthan on 5 days tour to Brazil, 8 ? 12 April, 2017

Day -9th April, 2017
As part of Initiatives of Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India to promote cultural exchanges between Brazil and Rajasthan, a 13 member group of Rajasthan comprising of 5 craftsmen, 6 folk artists, one Chefand a coordinating officer from Rajasthan Tourism is on a 5 days visit to Sao Paulo and Brasilia.

The craftsmen displaying Hand Block Printing, Kota Doria, Leather Work, Lac Work, Miniature Paintings, the Folk Artists performing Rajasthani Folklore and a Rajasthani Chef teaching and displaying culinary of the State rocked and mesmerized the visitors and audiences with their skills.

The show was organized in association with the Consulate General Office of India in cultural centre, Sao Paulo ?The Museum of Immigrants? from 11 am to 5 pm, which was attended in huge numbers by the visitors.

Later in the evening the culinary show along with folk performancesand craftsmen displaywas organized at Hotel Prodigy, Brooklin.

At both places, The Consul General, Ms. Abhilasha Joshi, Head of Chancery Mr. R Venugopal and other members of Consulate General office along with local media were present.

Day - 10th April, 2017

The crafts display and folk performances were organized by the Embassy of India, Brazil at BRASILIA, the capital of Brazil at the cultural centre ?Auditorio Jacob Germano Galler ? Casa Thomas Jefferson? in the evening. Performances of Bhawai Dances, Kalbelia Dances and Rajasthani Folk Dances were appreciated by the guests.

The Ambassador of India, Mr. Sunil Lal, Head of Chancery Mr. Kshitij Tyagi, Deputy Chief of Mission Mr Abhay Kumarand other senior officials of the Embassy were present at the occasion.

Rajasthan gained huge publicity with the august presence of the Hon?ble Ambassadors of Egypt, Turkey, Belgium, Cyprus, Bolivia, Paraguay, Slovakia, Canada, Nepal, Indonesia and Germany.

Prominent citizens of Brasilia city and media was present in huge numbers who applauded the crafts display and the scintillating performances.

Day ?11th April, 2017

The Embassy of India did not leave any stone unturned in spreading the cultural fragrance of Rajasthan when another presentation of Rajasthan was arranged at the Embassy of India for the guests. The Chef cooked delicious Rajasthani dishes such as papad ki sabji, aloo mangori ki sabji, besan gatta, choorma, kesaria kheer, lapsiwhich was highly appreciated by the visitors.
Among others, national TV of Brazil covered the culinary show and interviewed the Chef.
